  1. If possible it really is best to get an accurate diagnosis....just sad that it can be such a frustrating process.
  2. Thanks for the update and asking the doc about what else could elevate the DGP....that is the first time someone came back with an answer...I've got something to research now
  3. Good luck Apple! PS...Nicole good information is always a good idea.
  4. Love it! That would have been welcomed at California ... Especially the Labor Day race used to be hot as hell...I paid 25 bucks one season for the water truck to fill a kiddy pool...everyone laughed at me until they ended pulling their camp chairs to the edge to dangle their feet in my pool! Made the water too dirty for the toddler racetrack neighbor...
  5. We have a potato canon...kids used it infield at California speedway for a couple seasons without getting caught ... Mischief makers...no idea how that happened Dinner is KFG lasagna.
  6. Don't think you did anything wrong. K provided a link that said melt butter on the iron and some other stuff. I went with that and the fact that you said sweet potato didn't work and squeezed as much moisture out of my grated yams as possible. Oh...and turned the heat down to lowest setting as I wanted them to cook, not burn. We do potato pancakes with...
  7. Welcome SB! It can take a while. How long ago were you diagnosed? What age were you when diagnosed? How long did you have symptoms before diagnosis? Sorry for 20 questions..but details help folks here lend their knowledge. Hang in there
  8. So sorry Happy... Welcome to celiac.com. Feel free to ask more questions...most often folks respond sans-drama. Love your screen name
  9. Laura. We were bringing the topic back to the original question. I also think Happyplace can appreciate how tough it is to navigate these problems and likely appreciates the information provided. Respectfully, Ski
  10. Good news...back to the OP.
  11. I've read through this thread and believe that your posts would be helpful to others and not in need of clarification. Your friend, the bubble girl and her bubble kids along with the bubble grands
  12. Dad came to see mom so I ran home for real food and to take care of other details of life. Wanted fresh food so ended up grating two yams...out of sweet potato Then I squeezed the hell out of them in a tea towel...used butter in the iron then threw the grated yam and garlic salt on top...worked great! Just sitting down to a yamwaffle cheeseburger...
  13. My son stalled growth just prior to gluten removal at 15....he got another inch just before he turned 20 for which he was grateful seeing how his little brother grew to 6'3
  14. I read it that way too! Glad to hear your strength throughout your post. It only gets better from here...and paying it forward is what makes this forum so special
  15. Can't do potato...but do have some sweet potato frozen fries that might work. Thanks K
  16. Waffle iron hash browns is a brilliant idea....I think I'll throw some shredded sweet potato in my iron when I get home today. Thanks Ruth I threw a whole chicken with a bunch of fresh rosemary and a bit of broth in KFG before I left to check on mom this morning. I should be home to move it from frig to counter, but if not the guys can do it between...
  17. This is excellent! Irish already made all the observations I had and more...so I'll simply say...ditto. Thank you for posting this How are you feeling?
  18. Neither of the tests listed were the Total Serum IgA...this is run to make sure you have enough for the celiac antibody tests to be as accurate as possible. I would ask for The Total Serum IgA along with Deamidated Gliadin Peptide tests: DGP-IgA DGP-IgG Nutrient (vitamins and minerals) testing can also be helpful as celiac prevents proper absorption...
  19. Mine swells and recedes along with flares and healthiest days...sometimes hours. I do have many other intolerances and autoimmune issues, so you will likely have your tummy area much less swollen as you heal and your time gluten-free increases....it can take a long time, but it will happen.
  20. I'm dining out of my go bag. Mom was transferred from hospital to rehab and caught a nasty bug along the way...so I'm sticking with her for now until her lungs clear. So almonds, Justin's chocolate almond butter, astronaut veggie/fruit squeezes along with tons of coffee PS...I think Sandie dog has a future as a therapy dog...she has been making...
  21. Yummy zoodles....I eat them with all kinds of sauce or butter and garlic....good stuff! Recently replaced my large countertop spirilizer with a handlehld little one that works great with less clean up...shaped like two cones with their tips joined...I think I may have linked to it before...will check when back on laptop. Glad you had a great time Addie...
  22. We can use this thread as evidence
  23. Lol...just had a giggle at the image of Irish and I getting questioned about traveling with a hundred pounds of white powder...
  24. Meeee tooooo.... Had fun virtually traveling Croatia this afternoon...my passport is good, just woefully under utilized...we shall rectify that as soon as Irish and I can hold a bake sale....hmmm, maybe a few I wanna be in the loop for Lovie stories! Breakfast for dinner here...pigs in blankets maybe. I had an honest to goodness siesta with...
