ARCHIVED High Deamidated Gliadin Test
GottaSki replied to appletree729's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
No worries...I know how frustrating this process can be...especially for children and their folks. Glad to hear you have a Celiac savvy GI already. While you wait I would have your primary order: tTG-IgG -- yes this is the IgG version of the Tissue Transglutaminase antibody test. If the will also have them order as many of these as they are willing... -

ARCHIVED High Deamidated Gliadin Test
GottaSki replied to appletree729's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome appletree! The Deamidated Gliadin Peptide tests are often the first to be positive in children. The testing process for celiac disease can be very frustrating...especially if all four children have symptoms but are testing negative. You mention IgA is within normal range...is that Total Serum IgA or tTG? do you have those numbers? Did she... -

But now it's 6:30pm...cheers! -
I think would try making the same thing without the rice and grate your own cheese (not because of gluten, two in my family react to the anti caking stuff in pre-grated cheese..took us a while to figure that one out). Or better yet, just the tortilla would be the best test. Hang in there....rooting these things out is beyond frustrating.

Pretzels with white choc chips keep calling my name! Dinner tonight is meatloaf and mashies along with something green. Picked up a few supplies for a mini celebration...vodka, lemoncello and superfine sugar for the rims of martini glasses...no whining tonight Happy Friday Dinner Peeps! -

Thanks Ruth! Well I joined the snacking dinner crowd this evening. Was in ER with Mom for nine hours so my snack pouch was a couple meals. Dinner was a bag of pretzels/almonds/toll house white choc chips along with astronaut squeeze of apple, butternut, carrot...oh and lots of coffee Ps...has anyone found a gluten-free pretzel without soy? -
ARCHIVED Frustrated Re: 9 Month Test Results
GottaSki replied to CeliacSasha's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Those are interesting. I agree with you...both of the Deamidated Gliadin Peptide antibody results are clearly improved with the 1/13 and 8/25 tests. Was there an EMA-IgA with any of these three test dates? Was tTG-IgG been run with any of these three test dates? Have you changed your kitchen situation or frequency of dining out between the January... -
Welcome Eric! Here is a combo of my experience coupled with way too much time spent reading medical journals and added experience "listening" to many folks here over the years... Celiac Disease is the core of many autoimmune dysfunctions...if diagnosed early and gluten is removed, health is improved relatively quickly. For others it takes longer...

ARCHIVED Sibo Antibiotic Treatment: Do I Change Diet Too?
GottaSki replied to AmyNColorado's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I agree, start FODMAP now and stick with it, even after the antibiotics. I had already limited almost all the items of FODMAP so it was easy for me, but as Gillian mentioned there are tons of great recipes out there. Did you test positive for SIBO? The test isn't great, but if positive is helpful. I took probiotics during the antibiotics, but the... -

During my worst flares we use my least favorite, yet extremely accurate nickname....'Human Amoeba'. 'BubbleGirl' takes care of my "allergic" reactions to environment and exercise. And then there is one many of us like to use...I'm feeling froggy...started when someone with brain fog mistyped...and it fits. -

If your con is becoming larger...check and see if there are several panels you want in the same room...sometimes it pays to stay in that room for whatever is sandwiched between them...ours gives out bathroom break passes too...so make sure you get those if they are passing them out -
