  4. I wish I was surprised and very glad you are more educated than your doc on this one
  5. I am of the gluten is possible many places in our world camp...yet, let us use common sense - please. Those newly diagnosed should not be scared away from corn, rice or other alternative grains to wheat. There is a small percentage of folks - me included- that need to remove more than gluten, investigate why they aren't improving...but my guess - opinion...
  6. Yep. Not fancy, but always room for more. You, however, would get a room....both boys would gladly make room

Anyhow....this group is new since my seven mon nap last year...so,...
  8. I am laughing....no one took issue with my MILs method...and I totally forgot to mention the wiping the drum of the washer with hot water dish towel...until this thread I had totally forgotten this method.....I have ten kids (19-26) here tonight and I for one am grateful for this thread and the memory it triggered : )
  9. My mother in law used to use the spin cycle of the clothes washer....she had five kids with their miscellaneous friends often...when I found out I gagged a bit until I was helping her and her best bud prepared dinner for forty ... Never tasted soapy or dirty to me.
  10. Gem is wise...every time I removed caffiene to see if coffee was part of my problem, I got worse.
  11. Hey...I had these particular frogs too! So nice to be up clearing out the piles of crap that accumulated from the froggy decades..um ya, mine started in my early 30s and I'm in the last year of the 40s.
  12. Welcome Shleya! You have Celiac Disease. With positive celiac antibodies and increased lymphocytes on the sample taken along with history of symptoms -- not all of the the more than three hundred symptoms associated with Celiac Disease are digestive. The testing is not perfect, nor are the doctors that take the samples during endoscopy -- looks like...
  13. WaaaaaHooooo!!! The Grumpster (aka The Hubs) has left the house under his own steam to toddle off to the beach -- hoping the surf provide a few fishies which will further eleviate his grumpiness Thanks guys...couldn't have made it this past couple weeks without ya -- well I could of, but with far, far fewer smiles
  14. No worries there...with the amount of peeps eating the Standard American Diet (SAD) these guys have plenty of places to live S -- Glad you have a supportive Hubs..I've got one of those and it really is a great "fast-forward" when transitioning to living gluten-free.
  15. This is my opinion... This forum is many things to many people. I think it's most important task is to welcome those new to living gluten-free and try to present clear information about Celiac Disease and other gluten sensitivies. I stumbled in here within days of the first time I heard the word Celiac on March 9, 2009 and was still pretty unclear...
  16. Welcome Serielda! The dreaded Brain Frogs....I have a very close relationship with these little guys Good news is mine visit much less often these days Listen Irish...she tells it like it is. Early days are not a time to let the brainfog get you down...I know it's hard, but focusing on it can make it worse. Use your energies to find new recipes...
  17. I couldn't eat it for a very long time...but can eat a small amount of fresh corn, corn pasta or pop corn without issue now.
  18. Just floated with some wine...thinking these brilliant young men should cook for both of us tonight...doh...too late in KC...mañana should work
  19. Hi Dee Ho Good Neighbors... City Girl checking in with what is sure to be a stupid question....are the little white flowers that grow on Basil bad for you? Waited to top of some of my Basil a few days too long and threw the leaves some with tiny flowers right into the blender to make a quick sauce. Safe? Thanks
  20. hmmm what the hell is for dinner now that I am reliving all the scary apartments I had to visit in my property management years -- ewwwwww let's see -- kids left some very nice organic handfed (joking) chicken breasts in my freeze...thinking tacos will cheer the recovering patient -- maybe...grouchy pants, but thankful he is on the mend and simply coughing...
  21. My youngest has had the ability to be entertained by his own imagination since he was born...yesterday he proved this skill remains strong. He flew from Pittsburgh to Atlanta to San Diego after donning a cheap pair of glasses I got him as a gag gift to go with his favorite superman t-shirt -- so off he traveled with his superman logo peeking out from behind...
  22. I read too This is why I suggested getting written copies of your prior tests. Not many doctors....especially primaries....run a complete celiac antibody panel with total serum IgA .... Thus making an imperfect system much less accurate.
  23. Hang in there....for a very long time I didn't think this would improve. It did and still is
  24. Yep, those pot rallies were a real kick....but always peaceful as stoners don't cause much of a fuss!
