  1. While Karen was doing one of my favorite things...we spent the day moving! We are back upstairs...ground floor in our home...oldest is in our old bedroom which has its own entrance and bath....independence without us signing a lease So here's why I logged into the funny thread....plugged in the lamps in the new bedroom and immediately thought: ...
  2. My pool is my lifeline! Seriously, whether exercising in it or simply floating under an umbrella when the thermometer climbs (yes, I feel like Frosty the Snowman locked in the greenhouse). Our salt water generator cut out while Hubs and I were traveling so we returned to pond scum green pool...thankfully last week Hubs helped me drain and re-fill -- it...
  3. Am loving your weekly meal plan posts...Have fun at the Q today
  4. The young men loved the Tot Casserole -- they ended up making it because I was pooped. They doubled so there was a nice amount of left overs to freeze in foil packs -- to go off to work with them. Thanks Ruth! Tonight Dad is back at our Sunday Dinner Table - Yay? Anyway...there is always dessert when my folks come to dinner...so I just started this...
  5. I had to push my insurance to allow them together and the our copayment was based on both individual procedures...no credit was given for time and materials saved doing it at the same time.....but at least it saved me an extra sedation...I don't do well with sedation
  6. I provide tons of food for all and tell folks to only bring what they want to drink. There is always one that has to have some special glutenous dish...hubs intercepts and puts the special dishes on display on my patio coffee tables...we are in California so the patio is always open
  7. Doh!!! Only laughing because I regularly pull similar tricks -- the men threaten to wrap me in bubble wrap -- I'd still find a way
  8. John is our hero....he made us laugh our asses off -- we like to laugh in this family. Then he passed...kid said, "I guess he decided gluten-free was too hard"...smart kids I have and hard loss for the inflamed. And...yes...the itchies...omg there is gluten everywhere will pass. Wash well before you eat and all is fine now...back to the regularly...
  9. Cheers Willow...fifth grade may be shooting high for me...but damn glad to see you in the silly thread : )
  10. my first tech didn't tell me...probably didn't want to say osteoporosis to a 44 year old woman good news is the follow ups were much improved...last one I was only borderline osteopenia/normal -- that was at 4 years gluten-free eat right and regular weight baring exercise replaces those nasty weak bones! oh and good calcium/d vitamins
  11. How could I forget zoodles! Colleen is right .... Cruise over to the dinner thread.
  12.  Knock, knock. Who’s there? Cows go Cows go who? Cows don’t go who, they go moo!
  13. You are more than welcome...I am the queen of making a couple foods into many different dishes. As I lost so many foods back in 2011...I was having regular hissy fits...hubs said something brilliant: "Stop thinking of food as food...start thinking of food as your medicine." Simple really, but allowed me to accept there were things I could not...
  14. If we are counting glow sticks...I may have more than 10 lights in that pack I prefer the wind up type -- no one wants to see my arms jiggle -- including me
  15. Great news...certainly do not stop the proBs if you are improving....they are very important as long as they are tolerated.
  16. What exactly is wrong with 10 flashlights....I only had four types in my pack, but then I ran into solar flashlights...somehow they got added to my various kits
  17. That is a lot for a body to recover from....it's only been three months and it all happened during a time your body had not yet recovered from Celiac Disease. Are you still on probiotics? Many recovering Celiacs use them...I did for my first year or more....but eventually had to stop as I was not tolerating any supplements. Perhaps take a break from them...
  18. This is not a problem...in the event of trouble...simply grab DH. Mine's emergency pack is me
  19. Welcome to the best club you never wanted to join Willow
  20. Check on all that except the thing my husband used to "love" picking up at the store before I lost that plumbing Was joking with hubs tonight...I think I could build a crude tent with emergency blankets and duct tape....and outfit it pretty well...all with my emergency response team pack....of course I am no longer sure I could carry it a great distance...
  21. Or we could keep bumping this thread.... Anyone else... Right? Left? Dx'd with any AI disorder?
  22. Engineer here...just went to a larger glass...cuz I spilled a touch from the last pour. Now I have a large glass...half full Edited to add...'tween pours I got the pool plumbing hooked back up again and bathed the dog ... Poor thing has been scared of water her whole life and is now 15 and has skin eby-jeebies...we splashed around in a warm epsom bath...
  23. Yep, I had read this or something similar a while back. I think the data may have been more accurate if they started with 3000 folks diagnosed with an AI then polled for right/left handed. Starting with nearly 10% of the peeps confirmed lefties seems to be higher than percentage of left handed folks found in population...yet I haven't researched that...
  24. Finally saw this. I don't know if I can add anything to this discussion. I can eat all veggies with the exception of those from the nightshade family. How long have you been at the try to figure out what is bothering me besides gluten game -- not making light, took me two years before finally doing a full elimination experiment.
  25. lol...I remember this one making it way through here a long time ago I'll go see if I can find the thread. The six in my family with AI issues are all righties -- there are two lefties on my husband's side...no apparent AIs there. Edited to add link: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/70541-celiac-and-left-handedness/?p=622042
