  6. This board and members like Gem and Irish was a major part of me figuring out a rather complex puzzle. I had a little Blip yesterday afternoon -- I have them often, not from gluten but other sources -- last night sucked -- today I'm sore, but much better. Nice long epsom salt/baking soda soak to start the day - which will proceed slowly with lots...
  7. So true Arlene! just a side note -- in case you haven't figured this out -- took me a while with my boys -- having never been a 7 year old male -- after you said "no military" he heard nothing else in the conversation -- he may have seemed engaged, but I can all but guarantee he didn't hear anything but "NO Air Force". Thus the need for repeat conversations...
  8. It is okay to feel all those things -- can't imagine any of us didn't go through rough patches during the early days and beyond. You feel crappy, but this will improve. For now, lots of water and rest when you are able -- treat yourself to something (non-food) that you love. A nice bath, a good movie...a walk with music I love blaring in my ears...
  9. great kids need repetition -- keep on that train of thought
  10. You can turn this around. Focus on being a pilot -- no problem there. If he stays focused on the military aspect -- take him to an airfield -- just sit and watch the planes -- quiet time and perfect to explain that we don't know everything about celiac yet -- luckily he has many years to grow strong and healthy while improvements are made thru science and...
  11. Got it!! Hang in there
  12. Adobada is history...also in KFG...in fact the day got away from me so had both kids jumping to help get it in the crock by 3:30pm -- record prep -- maybe I'll wait until the last minute more often
  13. mine does not paint -- unless I'm in 'amoeba' state -- he builds, I paint hmmm...do good painters network -- I'll check my cali-guys -- never know.
  14. Holy Guacamole!!!! (actually one of my frequent exclamations - much to my children's dismay) At least I actually made Guacamole today The flipping icing for the Margarita Cake smells like a Margarita! Guess it should with the citrus, triple sec and tequilla, but still...fun stuff
  15. yep...still recovering from walking down the stairs a few weeks back -- just now thought to myself...yep it's much better, perhaps its time to lose the ankle brace -- um no -- tried to stand on my tippy toes to grab the Tequilla for the cake and ouchie! hope your tummy is better very soon -- I'm sure brownies will make it better
  16. You can blame me for the extra calories -- but the "Lucy" moves are all yours -- I know because I am Queen Klutz and do that stuff to myself all the time -- Irish too!
  17. Let us know how your appointment today went and if it raised more questions -- usually does. Hang in there
  18. Only tools inside this house are mine and they are not allowed to migrate to the shop! Cobbler's kids had no shoes.....Contractor's wife does all minor repairs (otherwise I have to hear either A: why blankity blank is not needed or B: get right to it - contractorease for one day in the future if I remember the conversation) Luckily when things are...
  19. Thanks for the giggle...REALLY needed it...long f$#%ing morning dealing with peeps insurance and other such fun things -- now I'm ready for a rita!!!!! Still can't do citrus so this chickee is having a glass of pinot to toast my neighbors to the south --- opening right now!

  21. I use BRM vanilla cake mix for all flavored cakes...will toss in some frozen oj concentrate and call it "Orange Cake Mix"
  22. All this talk of shipping Margies around the country got me thinking...I'm not pouring Margaritas tonight -- I'm going to make a cake! Gotta love google: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/margarita-cake/ Edited to add...with the price of limes...mine will not be decorated with the little green guys.
  23. I love chores as gifts -- hubs deep cleans the kitchen floor for me this week every year -- my birthday follows right after Mother's Day so it gets lost in the Mother's Day celebration for my Mom every year -- my crappy old kitchen floor gets shiny next weekend -- it really is one of my favorite gifts -- sometimes I ask for it for Christmas too
  24. Margarita - do you like blended or on the rocks? salt or no salt?
