  1. Me too. That morning in September 2001 altered our country irrevocably -- each act of terror - homegrown or not - well - we can't go back - but I sure do wish we lived in a world without acts of terror hanging just over the horizon. I am going to hug those close to me and reach out to those whom I know that are living alone.
  2. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151350963491752&set=a.67150811751.85843.7630216751&type=1&ref=nf PS>>>then go find the @#$OI$#)@($#@()*$ - oh ya - better term - ass hats that perpetrated this act.
  3. lol...I always hated malt vinegar on my fish and chips -- was a salt only gal too -- think our bodies were trying to tell us something so this weekend went all wonky between searching for a new "home" for Mom and a crappy - tired outta no-where afternoon yesterday -- the men took over last night and made chicken with glazed carrots for me with garlic...
  4. Oh -- how I love any sentence that begins..."Are you sure that....." Really glad the lectin lock did it's job
  5. I love snow and all...but come on Spring!!!
  6. Three feet! When does Spring arrive there? We are going out this evening!!! Housewarming for some young friends - I'll bring something for me and hubby is happy to have someone else cook for him. Tomorrow will be creamy garlic enchiladas with the left over meat from the crock pot carnitas yesterday.
  7. Two compounds -- stellar idea K! I'll venture down to the Florida site for a visit in the winter months, but will hold down the Colorado fort most of the time. Roll call....where is everyone???? And where will you be spending your time once we form our gluten-free compounds?
  8. Party...did someone say party? Glad its online...kind of long day so I have a date with my comfy chair tonight...happy to hear notme's great news -- darn it - my kindle cant use my little cheerleaders - oh well. Hip hip hooray for Notme!
  9. I've got soup for you both -- it was great and I ate it WITH rice pasta in it -- usually I pull mine outta the pot before I add the pasta group -- and usually I use corn based pasta for soups as it holds up better -- but gotta say it was really great having a serving with pasta -- and had no reactions what so ever -- now just have to take my own advice and...
  10. hmmm...I've lost my little cheeleader -- will go look for her and edit her it -- this is fantastic news Alex! Here she is -- and I realized when I went looking for her by searching this thread for "cheerleader" -- I originally borrowed her from Irish -- so technically this is Irish and this is me
  11. Welcome Back to you and I think I forgot to welcome my Nascar Pal back!!! Glad to see you both LFitts -- don't be too hard on yourself -- I think we have all come up lacking a bit when gluten jumps in our path. Dinner sounded yummy - glad you are feeling better. Life got in the way of the upside down peach cake today -- so men will have left over...
  12. those little girls always piss me off -- but I and carry on -- here is a hint -- watch out for Lisa with a big-assed smile -- it means something devious is in the works! Normal -- that is generally me and "usually" sincere. One of my kids had a "vegetarian" over last weekend -- I have nothing about vegies or folks that choose to eat only vegies...
  13. found turkey necks and wings at the market this morning so a huge pot of turkey soup -- doesn't feel much like soup whether -- but it is my Mom's favorite so I'll pack some up for her lunch tomorrow oh and still have a very long honey-do list for this weekend so a peach upside down cake continues my campaign of bribes
  14. Yum...and why can't you put a picture here? you can't post a link to a personal blog -- but we post pics of yummy things here on occasion -- just not daily.
  15. Pool on hold -- motor died in storage -- and since I'm waiting a few days for amazon to send me a new one -- thinking the men are going to have to expand the small deck so there is more space to hang out with our feet dangling in. Now....I think something more fancy than brownies may help my idea move along -- what to make? I know it will not be a Charlotte...
  16. Good Morning! Re-building the above ground pool today (we have a tiered back yard that hides the sides -- so I put in the above ground pool when the kids were little until we built the real pool -- well life and illness stopped plans for all our major home improvement projects -- kinda glad now as retirement grows closer I don't think we'll be home much...
  17. Scary stuff -- I had read and heard that each anaphylactic episode can be worse than the last -- very scary no matter our age, but must be terrifying for a little one. My BP was thru the roof from the epi - it did go back to my normal BP within a few hours -- but the whole episode does knock the stuffing out of you. Mindwarp is right -- we had practiced...
  18. Wow...recently I attended something called the Celiac Awareness Fair when it's nationwide tour stopped in San Diego -- small, but nice with good samples, coupons, etc. and I got to take a couple free yoga for digestion classes -- and the vendor of my "astronaut" food (organic baby food in little pouches that I carry for emergency food - well a bit more often...
  19. Not to worry Mw -- you will be a healthy mid 50 - rather than an undiagnosed Celiac! You'll be running circles around those grumpy teens -- Me thinks menopause will be a cakewalk comparatively -- and before anyone jumps me -- yes -- I've been thru "the change" -- early thanks to my silly body's inablility to create enough necessary hormones - not sure exactly...
  20. Glad dinner peeps are feeling a bit better -- IH - how about you today? So some of you may have seen my Cobalt Blue toenail picture -- today I am sporting matching sparkly cobalt blue fingernails -- a bit of back story: One of my favorite local tv anchormen -- also a staunch environmentalist and natural remedy for home and garden guru was diagnosed...

  24. Hey Addie...hoping your tummy is all better in the morning -- if not hope it is a very short lived little bug.
  25. Good Morning Dinner Peeps! Yes, I am back and feeling great this morning -- this week really was tough -- still have no idea what caused the anaphylactic crisis -- part of me suspects a combo of environmental and food -- was the freshly baked chicken to blame? tossed the left overs just in case. Was the extremely high pollen count last Sunday or the...
