  1. This is for dinner tonight...for the men. I'll have some of the stuff layered with sweet potato cubes with cilantro, etc. We are trying to give the silly thread a jump start so if you have any "around the dinner table" type chit chat...head over there and join us! https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/98288-the-funny-pages-tickle-me-elbow-the-sequel...
  2. wipes - check, but were dried out meds - had to add the silly epi to the go bag thus the reason for today's inspection -- figured if I had to add epi, i would take the opportunity to add wine -- which is what I am about to do to my day pouring now
  3. check, check, check for Irish and check, check, check, check for karen anyone else want to play stump the emergency pack....well one of those checks for karen is a pair of comfy shorts rather than undies...my dear aunt gert drilled it into us...lever leave home without spare panties in your purse -- that is an embarrassing practice when you are raising...
  4. lol....they did something funky with my sample one time too -- I know it isn't likely the most fun sample in the lab...but come on -- having to carry the brown paper bag around twice...so not cool
  5. I think I may have a problem with wine...most accessible item in the emergency go-bag
  6. Thanks I will take them...we can all use them
  7. First and foremost....here you go one huge --- HUG ok, now...I don't think there is anything you are doing wrong...the key is it simply takes time. If you really are only eating just those items...try this: Chicken, sweet potato fries or mashed and steamed or oven roasted veggie (i like broccoli, asparagus or carrots - doesn't really matter...
  8. I love stupid jokes...one more please! Anyone? The more the merrier in here --- all we've heard is echos of late -- Heeellllllloooooo...anybody out there -- come join the sillys -- oh hell...how is that spelled again?
  9. Now there is a emoticon I would love....a dragon carrying a ketchup bottle -- Brilliant! So the fun around here today is....the above ground pool which is my safe haven had a lovely sparkling salt water generated shine when I left on a three day trip with the hubs...the filter pump is on a timer, but somehow the salt water chlorine generator turned off...
  10. I agree! Get the endo at the same time as the colonoscopy -- there is no prep for an endo and you will already be on the table sedated. Not to mention it saves the frustrating wait between procedures should the colonoscopy come back clear.
  11. I do one of two things: Call the bride or groom and ask if you can have the email contact for their caterer. I've had brides try very hard to obtain me a safe meal and quite frankly it is a waste of their precious time. Bring my own and RSVP that I will be bringing my own so do not count me in the totals for the caterer. ok guilty...if it looks...
  12. Lol....but mostly at your new signature with illustration
  13. It is....I usually just frost the tops of layers with it....you can frost the sides, but kind of a pain and not necessary because it is very rich.
  14. Most of us have celiac disease or are intolerant of gluten. We would not know the best way to re-introduce wheat, because we cannot - ever. I can tell you the recommended amount of gluten for a gluten challenge is one slice of glutenous bread per day.
  15. You can read a member's posts if you click on their name and then click on either their posts or topics. We can friend each other, but it's not like FB where our friends post show up for us to see. You can follow any thread by clicking on the green "follow this thread" button at the top right of each thread.
  16. Welcome Ace! Wow that is quick to get the referral to GI. There really isn't much that will happen until you have had a complete celiac antibody panel along with possible nutrient testing, but good to get evaluated. It is encouraging to read that your primary immediately thought celiac disease...hopefully this will become the norm for many more...
  17. Same place we all go...here and in particular the Newbie 101 thread. Same rules for all...doesn't matter if the person cooking has an issue with gluten. My husband understands all the rules as does my Son-in-law.
  18. Our go-to birthday cake is Bobs Red Mill Chocolate mix with one cup of choc chips added. For frosting we use canned in a hurry or 2 cups choc chips 1 can sweetened condensed milk 2 tsp vanilla Heat over lowest stovetop temp until smooth...frost immediately Other favs are vanilla cake, lemon cake or strawberry cake....let me know if you...
  19. That is what we call a win-win Thanks for sharing!!!
  20. I love it when that happens
  21. For me, I am always happy to have more tests done rather than less. I've had everything you are listing and all were normal with minor issues related to my thyroid tests that have now corrected themselves. Get the tests and strive to be patient waiting for results....again I know easier said than done. As for the hubs...being a sounding board...
  22. Welcome QBEs! Your tTG (assuming it is the IgA) is negative for celiac disease. That said, if you have symptoms that could be attributed to celiac disease - I strongly suggest you have the complete celiac panel and a few other blood tests. Perhaps you have had some of these, but this is what I suggest: Total Serum IgA tTG - IgA tTG - IgG (Tissue...
