  1. Fauxreos! Hahaha I love it! If I had better self control I would keep them in the house all the time. My sleeping pills say on the bottle to take with food and I take them half an hour before bed. Well cookies and milk are a perfect bedtime snack, but I just can't seem to control myself with those cookies. Fortunately, my husband is doing a good job of helping...
  2. Or my mother maybe? Or my dad, which would be weird but I suppose he might do it. I just doubted my kids cause they already sent me crap for mother's day and there is no reason for them to send me crap now. I could see my husband doing it maybe, although he's not awesome at keeping secrets. Time to start gently harassing people.
  3. Giraffe! Just one, but that's all you need to make cookies with. There is only one appropriate shape to make cut out cookies into. At least in this house.
  4. Apparently mysterious people are mailing me cookie cutters. I called the company on the way out of the house to PT and they're all psh... we don't know nothin bout nothin but we sell stuff on etsy and amazon and all over the interwebs so maybe you bought something and didn't know it was from us. Whatever. I got to the post office and they showed me a package...
  5. So happy for you that you're on your bike again! I'm off to PT and stopping on the way home at the library and post office. I got a thing yesterday saying they had something for me to pick up but that 39 cent is due for postage. I've never heard of the company it's from and I'm quite confused. I definitely want to know what it is before I go giving them...
  6. I have trouble making plans because they end up changed all the time. Tonight I made garlic bread with Hodgson Mill pizza crust mix. We just plain old don't like Chebe. But the Hodgson Mill was great, if sticky to work with. Can't wait to make a pizza. I'm just glad my arm was fully functional (if still sore) today so I could cook. Tomorrow I'm making...
  7. A cousin found an old pic and I just wanted to share because I'm so amused. I'm the 5 year old in pigtails on my mom's lap hiding. My brother is totally the dorky one on the bench on the left. I can't believe someone is digging up pics this ancient. I'm sure my mom and her hair want to forget the early 80's!
  8. My husband was raised by a woman who thought that the fact that he was diabetic meant that he never had to go hungry, never had to be told to eat what was on his plate, never had to be forced or taught to eat vegetables. Blending his sauce so that it is chunk free is our compromise, he eats veggies in his sauce but doesn't have to look at or chew them. I...
  9. Even when I've had to give up foods, once I got over my hissy fit it was nice to know what was making me feel unwell (in whatever way) so I could get feeling better. I'm glad you know so you can feel better. We added new exercises for my arm/shoulder/neck yesterday in PT. While there was mild discomfort, there wasn't pain and the others started that...
  10. I take NatureMade gummies multi vitamins. They don't have iron so they don't make me sick, and they have folic acid which I am actually deficient in. Since citrus fruits give me migraines and I have issues with having enough energy, I figure a multi with C and Bs is better for me than just the folic acid I was told to take. My folic acid is a normal level...
  11. I used to be a little clumsy from time to time. No biggie, but the most annoying thing was I would occasionally slip when I was stepping off the curb in front of the house and twist my ankle. This happened a few times a year. Like I said, I was never concerned, I always just iced and elevated it and went on with my life. I know now that the clumsiness was...
  12. I really wish we had a pool here at home. We don't even have the fitness center pool because they're doing construction to upgrade some things there. But, when they're done it'll be nicer. And in the fall they'll have an additional second pool too. I indulged tonight for dinner. We had spaghetti and meatballs. We don't often go beyond the bulk penne...
  13. Also, now that it's summer I'll buy grapes every time they're a good price and keep frozen grapes in my freezer. I also got a huge box of philly swirl brand (something like that) chocolate covered fruit pops last week at Costco. They're banana, coconut, mango and strawberry and I'll pawn off the flavors that I'm not supposed to have on my husband. They're...
  14. I'm a huge fan of Snyder's pretzels, although they're not something I always keep in the house... or I'd be as big as a house. Probably because I have no self control and love to bake, which is what I generally snack on late at night. Or, I sort of ate an entire Costco sized box of Glutino oreos in a week. Mostly though, I bake things to snack on. I can...
  15. We largely use brown rice pasta, although not Tinkyada brand because I'm able to buy another brand here for a fraction of the price. I do indulge on occasion though, as I find that brown rice pasta, which good, isn't my favorite. I like Barilla, which I think is a corn/rice blend and that is what I use when I want actual spaghetti. It holds together well...
  16. I don't know what I managed to do on Monday night, but I set myself off with an allergic reaction to something early in the evening. I did still somehow find the energy to sit in the dirt on Tuesday (hubby's day off) and let him do all the real work while I did the putting seeds and plants in the ground. We also got our soaker hose in this year, so I won...
  17. I agree with Karen. The pharmacist is probably a complete moron and has no actual clue what the actual heck they are talking about. Call the manufacturer yourself on Tuesday and see what they say. It is extremely rare for a pill to contain gluten, but almost all manufacturers will say something along the lines of "we don't actually test for it so while it...
  18. I was using Earthpaste before I started just making my own. I'm not a fan of SLS in my toothpaste because of how it makes my mouth feel.
  19. It is not in effect until August or September something or other. The fall. And nothing is stopping anyone from using shared facilities, shared lines or forcing them to label if they do.
  20. Open Original Shared Link This is a good place to look for answers to all your questions. Remember, before now everything was completely unregulated. Anyone could say anything they wanted about whatever they wanted and as long as it wasn't an outright lie, they were above reproach. Except by the gluten free community.
  21. My husband seems to like Old El Paso. I used to... until I discovered Nueva Cocina which is so very sadly out of business. (still makes me want to cry) Fortunately I have a huge stash of packets I found on clearance that will probably last me through the summer. I did try La Frontera twice, they're pretty decent. Probably what I'll go to when I run out....
  22. I think different people have different ideas of what exactly birthday cake is. A birthday cake can be any kind of cake you want, just served for a birthday. If you give us an idea of exactly what kind of cake you mean, we may be able to help point you in a helpful direction. That said, I've never been disappointed by a Hodgson Mill mix. Pancakes, cakes,...
  23. So this won't work for you:
  24. Mmmmm!!!! That looks good! I think I need one now too. I'll have to see if it turns out as something my husband will eat if I leave out the onions.
  25. I may possibly, maybe, sort of never have grown out of the lighter fluid/flame method. I once got a lovely 2 x 4 inch patch of my left arm covered in fire ant bites. I don't care the type anymore, death comes to all who invade my space. I settle for the boiling water method if I can find a nest. It doesn't seem to do any real harm to the yard. It also works...
