  1. Maybe I should have said skinnier instead of skinny. But heck, I was a 12 between kids and imo at this point I consider that pretty darn skinny. Still, I'm happy just the way I am. And gratz on the birthday and getting off the prednisone! It's always awesome when life is looking up. I made an impromptu shopping trip today after getting an email...
  2. Hey, I would live at your house with that meal plan. It sounds amazing! And I'd be happy to eat all your gelato for you. Sure, I'd be happy to lose some weight, but I'm also perfectly happy to stay this size forever too. Whatever. I'd rather be fat and happy than skinny and living life without cupcakes and gelato. I'm making chicken something tonight...
  3. I have a large no-name brand of rice I bought a huge bag of that I'm slowly using up. It's never caused a problem. Once it's gone though I'll start using Lundberg because I prefer the texture.
  4. We were at Costco yesterday and they were doing a bunch of gluten free samples again. One of them was Tortilla Land tortillas, which are amazingly delicious. We'll have quesadillas tonight. Can't wait. I may have spoiled my dinner a little though. Costco also now sells huge boxes of Glutino oreos which somehow ended up in the cart and I just couldn't resist...
  5. Yep, the gummies work great for me. A year after my diagnosis I was folic acid deficient and was told to take a supplement of some sort. I've been tested many times since then, and my levels are back to normal so it's definitely working.
  6. It isn't something to be taken lightly, just like getting a dog or cat. They can be complicated pets at times, and you need to be ready to handle them. They need room to exercise properly and a house, if they will be indoors needs to be appropriately bunny-proofed for when they are allowed out for free time. Your daughter would also have to accept that they...
  7. I use Nature Made gummies. I like them because they're one less "pill" in my life, they taste good and they don't have iron which makes me sick as a dog.
  8. I actually appreciate the info. I have a bunny and am very careful about what food I give her because I want her to have the best. Since this company does a free sample and it has almost identical nutrition info to the food I'm already feeding my princess I ordered a sample to give it a try. If she can be gluten free, I'll be very happy.
  9. Wednesday we found some Georges on sale at a really great price the first time we stopped in the new Wal-Mart Marketplace that opened near us. (which puts us at 3 Wal-Marts we can grocery shop at within 10 minutes from home. SO SPOILED!) We cooked one last night and will can him today. We'll probably make dinner of leftovers. We've been weeding today and...
  10. Glass cutting boards are fine to share. When I was sharing a kitchen I got one because I wanted my cutting boards to be safe from CC. I hated it. It makes the most God-awful sound in creation when you use it, is a terrible surface for whatever you're cutting to hold still on and will dull your knives really quickly. It's now used as a place to set hot things...
  11. The other "cupboard" to make sure you empty and clean is the silverware drawer. I know not everyone thinks of this because it's where clean dishes go, but nearly every silverware drawer in existence has crumbs in it. Thankfully, with a dishwasher all you have to do is put all the silverware in, wash the drawer and the holder. And yeah, waffle irons are...
  12. Most stores sell the same salads that are in the case also prepackaged, which come with an ingredient list. Some stores make nothing in store, some make everything in store. You can find out which is the case and decide whether your comfortable with eating their food by asking. When it comes to what is in the case, unless all of their deli salads are gluten...
  13. The trout was a hit. Yay!!! I can let my husband's uncle know to send more over if he has spares. I've never had to deal with a mostly whole fish before though, so that was a challenge. I suppose practice will make perfect. Recently my husband said he wants to make a bbq ranch chicken pizza. Something we used to make all the time together. But, I've only...
  14. Mwahahahahaha!!!! My evil plot begins to take shape.
  15. Want me to make all of you who have won crazy? It's possible to double that 2048 and get a 4096 square.
  16. I am going to cook my first trout tonight. I've never cooked one before but an uncle is an avid fisher and catches far more than they can comfortably eat. So I told him as long as it doesn't have a head on it, we'll take them. (I do NOT do food that looks back at me, it creeps me the hell out.) I hope I still like it, I haven't had trout since I was a teen...
  17. I'd make chili or some type of soup or stew. Snow? Now? That just seems like some sort of really messed up and inappropriate joke.
  18. We are having breakfast for dinner today. Pancakes and eggs and bacon flavored sausage. And because insomnia is awesome, the strawberry muffins I baked at 2:30 this morning. I also cleaned the bathroom floor, did the dishes and left no mess to clean up from my muffins. Apparently I'm awesome in the middle of the night.
  19. This is exactly what I was going to point out. No one knows what your increased health risks are if you have NCGS so it is important to treat it as seriously as celiac. I tell my well meaning friends that even though they're well meaning and thoughtful, I simply do not, ever, under any circumstances, no matter what, PERIOD, eat food that someone else...
  20. To clarify, yes you can get CC'd from kissing a gluten eater or beer drinker. Glass on the other hand, if washed, will not CC you. Just have him rinse the glasses when he's done with them, which is a good idea anyway so they're easier to clean. Of course, if he wants a nice (or cheap, whatever floats his boat) set of beer glasses then go for it. And my perspective...
  21. I can't get it to load at the moment, but have you looked into Vick's Nature Fusion. I know for certain they are gluten free. I believe the liquids are sweetened with honey, not sure if that is a problem for you since you're describing more "chemical" derived, processed sweeteners. They do also have pills though that would probably have such a small amount...
  22. Today is my six week checkup after my hysterectomy. There may not be time for dinner. Actually, in all seriousness. I went shopping at 1:30 this morning and found skin on chicken thighs on sale. So something thighs, maybe fried with crispy skin. I know I shouldn't but just YUM! Rainbow carrots and mashed potatoes and some sort of yummy sauce with all...
  23. The part where he called us all annoying is about the time I wanted to play a little roshambo with him.
  24. Chicken surprise is becoming buffalo chicken dip because apparently all it took was once to get my husband hooked and that's what he wants. I know it's not exactly the most appropriate food for me with the ranch and the Frank's (not a gluten issue, I have other issues) but I'll have a little because it's delicious! Maybe I'll stuff myself with a big fat bowl...
