  1. I actually kind of want one. Slicer smartass, not your finger. My husband is afraid of them, and I'm not sure why. I actually watched a guy cut part of his finger off and my attitude is still "meh" I'll try not to be a moron. Ooooorrrr.... maybe Lucys shouldn't own them.
  2. I also have a histamine intolerance. (thanks mom for beating me over the head til I learned my lesson ) For me this has led to developing a full on allergy to heat which includes breathing problems when I get too hot, rashes when I'm in the sun and hives when exposed to extreme heat (like from a really hot oven). I also starting having oral allergy symptoms...
  3. I am so with your mom on this one! Dusting is the most stupid thing ever. And my mom had shelves put on the walls (not a few, we're talking more than a dozen at 3 feet long each) just to hold a bunch of freakin knick-knacks and crap. Then she's all "go dust" and meant to pick up every, single, thing, and dust, and put them all back exactly where they came...
  4. Omg husbands are so hilarious! Now send him to Bed Bath & Beyond, or some other kitchen store to buy you a deli slicer. Deli meat freezes really well. We buy big packs at Costco for my husband for work. Theoretically, slicing it all yourself and freezing it is a great idea! (you have no idea how hard it is not to fall out of my chair laughing while...

    ARCHIVED Crps

After talking to two different people in two different offices today, I have confirmed that somehow no one from the PT office ever got the exception form. And for some reason that I'm sure not even God can fathom, the one they emailed to me expired so I can't load it to print it and take it down. So now I get to call the insurance people again. Yay!!! At...
  6. Stuff is good for dinner. Glad you're mending. We're having do-overs of the meat. I made some more puffs this afternoon when I wanted a snack so I'll have those and some sort of veggie or something. I had one of those days where everything went wrong, and the longer the day went on the more things there were going wrong. So finally I gave up before...
  7. The deli I usually use only sells Boar's Head, so there has never been an issue there of CC for me. The other deli I sometimes use I either go to early in the morning to be the first customer as they open, or I simply ask them to clean the slicer. For Easter the past few years I've simply gotten whatever ham I like at the store. My husband and I have...
  8. Scored a sale at the store, and I managed real cooking tonight. Balsamic and rosemary marinated London broil with sugared rainbow carrots and garlic green beans. And I got out of the house today and got all my starters planted. Mostly my husband did all the real work. I sat on the concrete and scooped potting soil into the pots and pushed seeds in. He...
  9. While I wasn't with Irish over the weekend, I have watched talks by Dr. Fasano online. I have heard the same from him. I also remember him being firm in this, and saying that without a genetic predisposition it's just NCGI.
  10. I hope your ankle gets better fast! Ooooh, did you get the Tortillaland ones? I've been thinking of trying them. For about a year now lol! I keep almost buying them then I don't because I'm scared they'll suck. Let me know how they are. I really hope I didn't lead you all astray and that you all like this flour as much as I do. I think it's just the...
  11. I also wonder if they actually did an appropriate biopsy. Just because they did an endoscopy, does not mean they did a biopsy for celiac, or if they did that they did it correctly. Some morons... I mean doctors... go in, don't see anything wrong and so don't bother with the biopsy. Or don't take enough samples.
  12. My gluten eating husband likes Snyder's gluten-free pretzels as much as, or maybe more than, regular pretzels. They're so good no one would ever guess they were gluten free. When a really huge video game I was excited about was being released and I was doing the midnight release party 2 years ago I chocolate dipped 2 bags of them. They hold up really well...
  13. I only just read the description on that blog about them. I couldn't at first because my internet was acting funny and wouldn't load the page and I checked it on my phone. Anywho, when she says they're all light and fluffy, they really are! And they were last night too. Full of air holes and lightness and awesomeness. I don't know why I'm shocked every time...
  14. Yup, that's the recipe. When it says grease the muffin pan, it means with something serious. No goofing off with light oils. Coconut oil may work, never tried it. (I'm a newb with it myself.) Butter works really well. Olive oil will leave them sticking. You may have to run a knife around them to get them out. Yeah, the price on the flour is silly online...
  15. Omg... ice cream bars? Forget it. Talenti makes gelato bars now. Dipped. In. Chocolate. Excuse me, I was just drooling on myself.
  16. Choboni, or sometimes if I have coupons or get a thing for a weird flavor I'll get Yoplait, but they aren't all natural so I'm not so into it. But I believe (could be wrong, always check) that all Yoplait flavors are gluten free, which includes the Boston Creme, Red Velvet, and other cake and pie inspired flavors. I also love to just keep fresh veggies...
  17. I keep finding more and more gluten-free things at Costco. Not just naturally, but specialty items. I was still totally shocked when I walked down the baking aisle and found flour! It's Premium Gold Flax flour. I get it way http://www.flaxpremiumgold.com/Flax-and-Whole-Grain-All-Purpose-Flour_c12.htm I'm getting it a lot cheaper than what the website lists...
  18. Soy is fine. Soy sauce is only a concern because many are made with wheat. If you read labels and are in the US, all wheat must by law be clearly disclosed. It isn't particularly common for oats, rye and barley to hide, just remember that malt can be barley malt (like in Rice Krispies) but because it is an expensive ingredient it will say so. Once you read...
  19. I'd totally just plant my mint right in the ground in the plot where the fruit trees are if it wouldn't cause my MIL to have a total fit. I'm pretty sure though that she'd have heart failure or something. I ended up finding the ambition for a bread-type object. There is a recipe in my Better Homes & Gardens cookbook for something called Nun's Puffs...
  20. It's just about 2, and I've finally gotten a shower, some pain killers in me, and am ready to face the day. I procrastinate a bit. Stoopid CRPS is really complicating this recovery process, keeping the pain lingering longer than it should. But I'm still improving day by day so I can't complain too much. I'll be out to the yard in a bit to water my mint. We...
  21. Yeah... she's not ever coming back. I'm not sure her husband knew what he was getting into letting her go alone. I'm still waiting for days I can be awake a whole day without naps. Too tired today for cooking so I think I'll make burgers and a veggie, something super quick and super easy. At least all this napping and being too tired for anything but...
  22. I got sick and tired of not having a life too. So I said screw it, I'll have one. When I decide to do fun things, I am careful not to do any experimenting. I am hyper-vigilant about my diet before big days or events. And sometimes my husband just wants to go out for the day on a whim. This is doubly difficult for me. It isn't just a matter of what will...
  23. Last night I made cornbread to have with my leftover chili. It was my first cornbread that my husband liked. Yay! Instead of trying all these new recipes for gluten-free cornbread I finally gave up, and decided there was no reason not to use my tried and true recipe. I went back to my Betty Crocker cookbook and used that recipe with my AP flour. I may add...
  24. Glad you were able to get out to the game. I'm doing fine, as fine as I expected. I'm sore, but slowing cutting back on my meds so I'm a little more lucid a little more often. I managed to make black bean chili for dinner tonight, with a little help. I am so enjoying fresh meals. It's amazing what you take for granted when you never think you'll have...
  25. I should have taken a picture of them, I almost did a bunch of times, but I couldn't stop eating them long enough to get one. I found a good picture of them though. This site has a picture of the package and you can see them in the package. They're in blue sugar and have confetti on them. You can't see the deliciousness and awesomeness, but it's there. Open...
