  1. Tonight we're having breakfast for dinner. Pancakes and bacon. I'm sulking and want comfort food. Yesterday I had what should have been my first stellate ganglion block, unfortunately it failed which means that my CRPS is too advanced for them to ever be successful so it will also be my last. So now I'm exploring other options, none of which are appealing...
  2. I saw the fresh linguine last month while I was shopping. It was just a bit out of my price range at the time, but I was still excited to see it. Somehow though I ended up with a HUGE box of Glutino oreos that were gone in a week. Going to pass on those in the future, I like fitting into my pants. I love that they have so many offerings, and even more I...
  3. I agree, try plain soy and see if it's a problem. Or try pretzels without soy flour. I only eat Snyder's which have soy lecithin but not soy flour. I enjoy them as much as, if not more than I did gluten pretzels, and my gluten eating husband agrees that they're every bit as good. I have to hide them from him.
  4. Tapioca starch and flour are the same thing It is a starch really though, not a flour which is an important distinction when subbing. Confused the heck out of me at first. When replacing things in a blend, always replace a starch with a starch. There are often reasons for certain things in a blend and changing the types of flours can mix things up a bit and...
  5. hahahahaha I've heard this one before but it never stops being hilarious!
  6. omg why can't sick people just stay home and keep their germs to themselves! Hope everybody feels better fast. Tonight is leftovers. I'll eat early and do my nails. Hubs can come home and get his own leftovers. Just got in from PT and picking up some things to finish the last pads. Back to work!
  7. I just recently got my second denial, which at least means that the next decision comes in a courtroom. Thankfully, no judge will look at this crap and deny me. Once you start the paperwork, it'll explain exactly what you need and don't need. Basically, you'll them access to request all of your medical records from every medical anyone you've ever seen for...
  8. That's crazy! It sounds deceptively easy for something that also sounds awesomely delicious.
  9. Also, we harvested our first mint last night. I huge bowl full of chocolate mint. It's in the dehydrator now. It may seem like a crime, but my first batch is going into a heating pad for myself and I'm insanely excited. Also thinking of making some brownies or fudge. And we want to make a boatload of chocolate and Moroccan mint extract as Christmas gifts...
  10. I really wish my husband would eat a stir fry. Our pork roast was itty bitty, and with only a tiny bit left over to make my lunch tonight I'm making a beef roast. Rotisserie again, because why not! My husband says I'm obsessed, pretty much with his mouth full and while talking about how awesome his dinner is. Second best kitchen purchase we ever made. ...
  11. I suppose also you could say it is depending on what you do with it. lol! I corrected a two inch stack of tests yesterday and probably had half a dozen of the ones with this question. Only one person got it right. I almost wanted to cry. I do make a point though if anyone brings it up to me to point out that I grew up next to a nuclear power plant and that...
  12. Everything on the internet is true. We all know that. This is a fun website you can go to to explore the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide. My BFF to teaches a course on computer literacy uses this website to teach students about researching things. Simple true/false question on the test. Is diyhydrogen monoxide dangerous to humans?
  13. Tonight my pork roast is actually thawed enough to cook. I'll also throw a rub together for mine then throw it in the rotisserie and get some veggies for with it. Sick or not, life is in hyperdrive this week. First market is this Saturday and I'm nearly ready! Plus my BFF just went part time teaching and they haven't found a replacement for the afternoon...
  14. A list like this is not particularly useful. First, because as Karen pointed out there are many products that are gluten free that won't end up on it and second, because the list is only good on the day it was printed/posted. A store can change any of what they carry at any time, and any of the products on the list can change their ingredients and no longer...
  15. We were supposed to eat a pork roast for dinner, but it didn't thaw enough. So we had burgers and fries because that's what my husband told me he wanted. I was goofing off online because that's what I do when I discovered this evening that Grand Theft Auto IV has a mod that lets you play AS A GIRAFFE!!! Now, I've never been a fan of the GTA series of...
  16. This is a good reminder that no matter what else the label may say, it is important to always read the ingredients of what we buy. This simple rule will keep us from getting hit by mistakes like this, or by companies who mislabel things out of ignorance.
  17. I had to look it up too and came to the same conclusion, that it is some sort of malted barley product. It is my understanding that under the new rules, nothing that has any ingredients derived from wheat, rye or barley can be considered gluten free... but that rule isn't in effect yet. I would simply notify them that they can't be doing that crap and not...
  18. I had to go look up a pizzookie. Then I immediately checked for BJs in my area. Not a single one in Utah. Last week my husband was sick with a cold. He got better and I felt fine so I thought I escaped. Until yesterday afternoon when it finally hit me. Who gets colds in JUNE!!! This is stupid. I don't know what he'll eat for dinner, but whatever it is...
  19. As a general rule, in my experience, straw is made from the leftovers from glutenous grains. The grains are harvested, then what's left is used for straw, leaving nothing as waste. While possible some seeds may have been left, it would have been complete, whole seeds and she would have had to get one in her mouth. The dust is the same dust you would get from...
  20. I've been thinking on this and wondered if you know you were hypo because you tested yourself, or only assume you were because of how you felt. Because I can become hypo if I'm not careful with how I eat, and suffer from low blood pressure, I can tell you that both can feel very similar to each other. Cooling off after exercise could cause a dip, it's happened...
  21. The problem with your mandoline slicer wasn't that in general they are bad, it was that you just had a bad one. I've done that too. When you buy a quality one you'll see a world of difference.
  22. I think the most useful thing on your list is the food processor. I really wish I had a larger one. I'm not sure if you mean you want to make small nearly individual batches of applesauce and apple butter, or large batches to freeze and/or can. If you want large batches, and with things like sauces and purees, you'll definitely want a food mill and not...
  23. My mystery sender remains a mystery. Tonight we're going to just have burgers and corn on the cob and whatever other veggie I dig up for myself. With it having truly turned summer I'm rather enjoying things that are simple, delicious and take very little effort. Like lunch... apples and gouda. I was gifted a small block of gouda which I don't think I...
  24. It shouldn't be an issue at all. If I used sunscreen, I would use it. You can't absorb gluten through your skin, they said they clean thoroughly and any you ingest shouldn't be minimal, it should be absolutely nil. Wash your hands after applying if you're a face toucher, or if you intend to eat. There is no reason at all not to use this product, or to be...
