  1. I only have this link handy because I just linked it. But Omission beer (and any gluten removed alcohol) can't be labeled gluten free but has to have special and specific labeling that is different. http://www.ttb.gov/rulings/2012-2.pdf Couldn't pay me to touch the stuff. I'll stick with whatever is actually gluten free for beer.
  2. I'd be criminally insane after 7 weeks. I don't know how you do it, but I hope your pizza goes well! Dinner will be pork chops, probably maple glazed or something. Maybe I'll get all fancy and start cooking with wine some more. Some broccoli and cauliflower and carrots, nothing fancy, just the easy peasy steamer bags. And red velvet cupcakes. Mmmmm...
  3. That's very exciting! It's great to hear that you're out again.
  4. We were out of the house and up to the city at an ungodly hour this morning. We stopped on the way home at The Pie and got a meat pizza. Pizza with pepperoni, Canadian bacon and regular bacon. I actually ate half of an entire 14" pizza. I was hungry! I came home and slept the afternoon away and I'm not surprised that I'm not hungry tonight. I'm going to...
  5. I hope you like it, I did! My biscuits were really good tonight. Sadly I had my first heat allergy reaction in my own kitchen tonight. My forearms and part of my left handed ended up covered in actual, for real, hives from dealing with the oven. I'm very unhappy with my completely dysfunctional immune system this evening. I think I'll go console myself...
  6. White or red? I can't recommend any store bought white sauces that are good, but I find the Classico alfredo to be adequate in a pinch. If I buy red I go for Dave's Gourmet, which admittedly is not in everyone's budget. It isn't even in my budget, which is fine because I'm not supposed to eat tomatoes and I only buy it on sale so it all works out. My fall...
  7. I hate when this happens! I'm always disappointed and a little sad. We're having breakfast for supper. Biscuits and breakfast potatoes and eggs and ham.
  8. Oh the terrible burdens we suffer... being forced to have pizza! You poor, poor thing.
  9. A few years ago I failed at starting a secretarial business. This week I got a call from someone who found my old website and was looking for a quote. Nothing says I can't work as an independent contractor, so although transcription wasn't something I've previously done, I have ears and I can type so I quoted a price, got the audio and figured I have all...
  10. I'm rather disappointed tonight in my dinner. We had tacos, for me for the first time in months. Neuva Cocina went out of business and I frankly have no interest in any other taco seasoning because nothing else could ever compare. My husband talked me into making tacos anyway, and I did and made my own seasoning because the only one available in any of the...
  11. Brianna's is so amazingly delicious! It is very nearly the only stuff I'll buy. Once in a while (like maybe one or two times a year) I'll get a jar of something in the produce section but other than that I never stray. I should have been at your house for lunch, I just had grilled cheese and banana cream pie yogurt. Which was still pretty darn good. When...
  12. Mice are jerks too! Oddly enough the whole reason we even have a mouse is because of my SIL's stupid cat. It brings gift mice home... ALIVE!!! The mouse either moved into our downstairs bathroom or it's a new one and we had three out of six traps baitless this morning and no mouse. I'm done screwing around. I'm tying cereal to traps and if it isn't dead...
  13. I found this recipe this evening. I can't make it right away, but I'm rather excited to try it sometime this winter. It sounds really different and interesting and I'm always up for something new. http://www.yahoo.com/food/the-bread-that-will-change-your-whole-world-73342291256.html
  14. I personally love Ancient Harvest pasta, but it isn't for everyone. Because of price I mostly just buy brown rice pasta that holds up as well as Tink but I get 10 pound boxes for about $15. I just buy in bulk from a local store and get unopened boxes, and I get a 10% discount for buying whole boxes instead of out of the bin anyway. I always feel super awesome...
  15. Nope. It was probably me too, I was just tired and needed a nap! Which I got and am feeling much more like a human now. It can only improve more with some gelato later.
  16. That mouse did not magically appear in the house. It got here from coming from the outside, and could get in again if we just put it out. It needs to get dead. Some types of animals do need to be killed every time. I'm so surprised, learning all these new things is actually sort of... fun. I didn't expect it to be and I haven't had any epic failures yet...
  17. Hey, I'm no bleeding heart. I'd totally kill it if I could. Instead I stood in the middle of the kitchen in tears scared completely witless begging my husband to bring me a stool before the mouse came out and got near me. Once I was safe I said we should lock the cat in the pantry with the mouse, he didn't like my idea. I was also the only pro-poison in the...
  18. This http://thedeviantcook.com/?p=669 Positively amazing. I am just a little ashamed to admit that today was my first ever shallot purchase. My husband eyed the sauce with suspicion and I assured him there were no onions in it. He was like it's shallots. An unholy hybrid of onions and garlic. I just smiled and made him taste it. He didn't like it but went...
  19. Shhhh..... I was thinking a small amount, which won't be so bad. Especially if I don't do something stupid like get out that block of parm to shave some off on my bread.
  20. I really feel like fresh bread, but have mildly less energy than I estimate a half dead sloth does. So I'm just going to throw together a pan of flatbread, maybe with some rosemary or something in it. If I can find any further ambition I'll have something with my flatbread. If not, maybe I'll just open a jar of spaghetti sauce for dipping or a can of roasted...
  21. Apparently glaring at a sick husband does not provide adequate protection from illness. On a bright note though, the library texted me today to let me know that it's my turn to borrow Fahrenheit 451 which is one of my favorite ever books. So I went and picked it up to keep me busy for the weekend. I'm not coughing too much yet so hopefully I didn't infect...
  22. Poor Mui has never minded shots. He's always good at the vet, was fine for getting blood drawn by them and letting them stab a needle straight into his bladder. He doesn't care if someone grabs his neck and stabs him with a needle. He just does not. like. his. ears. touched. Although admittedly, I do think my husband was being a little bit teensy bit nervous...
  23. This cracked me up and my husband asked what I was laughing at. So I repeated this to him exactly as it is says. (Hey, us PA rednecks tawk like that too!) He's like the what? Crick? He was just all ..... LOL! Hope it gets done on schedule! It didn't have the decency to snow for my birthday, but it's snowing today. The day that I'm working in the evening...
  24. Oh... also, he can't have dry food any more. And even if he could there is pretty much a snowball's chance in hell we'd pay that much for pet food. It should be way cheaper though, and if needed I can always just cook for him. It's just meat meat meat, he's a cat not a dog so it's way easier.
  25. It's sweet & sour pork night. We only used a little of the sauce and it needs to get used up so alas... we must have this meal forced on us again. The absolute horror! It'll be a nice treat and a good way to end the day. We had horrible news today after a vet visit. As if we don't have enough problems to deal with already with my health issues and...
