Are your Klondike® bars gluten free?
Nope. Klondike® products are not gluten-free. We do not operate allergen-free manufacturing sites, however we do have allergen management programs in all our facilities. The intent of these programs is to avoid unintentional cross-contamination of allergens between products. Our product labels adhere to the FDA’s strict regulations regarding declaration of ingredients and allergens. We do not use the terms “Natural” or “Artificial Flavorings” to hide the existence of any allergens. RECIPES CAN CHANGE. We strongly recommend that allergic consumers refer to ingredient declarations EVERY TIME they purchase processed foods.

The following Klondike Bars do not contain any gluten in their ingredient lists, but do not have "gluten-free" on their labels:

    • The Original Klondike Bar
    • Klondike Dark Chocolate Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar
    • Klondike Dale Jr Checkered Flag Vanilla Chocolate Vanilla Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar
    • Klondike Double Chocolate Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar
    • Klondike Heath Toffee Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar
    • Klondike Mint Chocolate Chip Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar
    • Klondike Neapolitan Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar
    • Klondike Reese's Peanut Butter Dairy Dessert Bar

The following Klondike Bars contain gluten ingredients, and are UNSAFE for people with celiac disease:

    • Klondike Brownie Fudge Swirl Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar
    • Klondike Krunch Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar
    • Klondike Oreo Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar

Be very careful before selecting any Klondike Product. Two years ago I had a single Klondike Original bar and I lost 10 pounds in the next two days.

Klondike says on their website Open Original Shared Link, this article should really take these down.

From reading their website it sounds like they do not intentionally put gluten containing ingredients in their bars but do not rule out the possibility of cross contamination in the manufacture process. That doesn't necessarily mean they would exceed 20ppm but for sensitive celiacs they probably should be avoided.

We have added their "CYA" warning to this article, but did mention that they do not claim that their bars are gluten-free, and are gluten-free by ingredient.

Practically nobody doesn't love ice cream, and home made ice cream garners even more love, still. However, making ice cream from scratch can be a time-consuming, labor-intensive exercise.
One solution to that problem lies in this simple recipe and method for making about four cups ( 8 servings) of delicious vanilla ice cream at home in a bag. Kids will love making and eating their own refreshing ice cream.
For each person making ice-cream, you will need two pint-size resealable plastic freezer bags, one gallon-size resealable plastic freezer bag, and gloves or a towel to keep your fingers from freezing.
If you have more than one kid, you can divide the existing recipe between them, so they can both make ice cream. For more ice cream, scale the batch accordingly. Add fruit or other...

Joy Cone Gluten-free Sugar Ice Cream Cones
Finding a good gluten free ice cream cone turned out to be a real obstacle for me. Either they held up well, but tasted like cardboard, or they had a good flavor but were extremely brittle.  I almost gave up on my search for a great gluten-free cone, but then I tried Joy's Gluten-free Sugar Ice Cream Cones.  Joy Cones have such a nice crisp texture and are strong enough to hold up to my eight-year-old's scooping skills. Not to mention that they taste amazing!  I even catch my non-celiac kids dipping into my stash.
