Do I Sound Like I Have Celiac?

Recommended Posts

Here are a list of problems I have had in my life while eating gluten.

Focus problems

Poor memory

Depression

Anxiety

Speech Problems

Heavy breathing

Gas pain

Itchy skin

Fatigue

Low motivation

Moody

Anxiety

Headaches

Shaky hands

Joint pain

Loss of balance after standing up

Ringing in ears

Everything in a room looks further away than it actually is usually lasted about 15 minutes

After removing gluten from my diet all my symptoms cleared completely or improved drastically.

I still have problem with focus and memory but everything else is not a problem anymore.

Thing is I work in a pizzeria right near where all the action happens with the pizza making I am around a lot of flour 5 days a week for the past 6 years. I am thinking the pizzeria is keeping me from improving my focus and memory I'm not sure. So looking at my symptoms would you say I have celiac or gluten intolerance/ sensitivity? I appreciate your response.

Welcome! The only way to know for sure is to get tested. But....you have to be consuming gluten daily for 8 to 12 weeks or the blood tests will be invalid. Here are the tests:

-tTG IgA and tTG IgG

-DGP IgA and DGP IgG

-EMA IgA

-total serum IgA and IgG (control test)

-AGA IGA and AGA IgG - older and less reliable tests largely replace by the DGP tests

-endoscopic biopsy - make sure at least 6 samples are taken

As someone who has celiac, there is no way I would work in a pizza joint or bakery! Flour can stay in the air for a while and could be swallowed or it could remain on surfaces and could be ingested if you put your fingers in your mouth.

Welcome to the forum and let us know how it goes!
