I got my IgG and Transglutaminase levels reports

My IgG was 40.6 with the normal reference range being between 0 - 29.9

My transglutaminase was 16.9 with the normal being lower tha 7.0

These seem quite high and wanted to know what others had?

I had the tissue transglutamase test and I believe that my number was around 20.

I have to admit I'm not sure which tests my son had, but they were represented in a ratio.

Anything less than 1 : 2.5 is negative for Celiac (Mom, Dad and big brother).

Ty's was 1 : 650.

Yikes! We have a follow up soon, so I'll ask for a look at all the paperwork. At the original test and first follow up we were all so overwhelmed, it didn't occur to me to ask about the tests that were run.

Mine was (I can't remember which test it was, Tt IgA or something like that.....) was well over 100.....

My tTG was over 10 and the normal was below 4

chrissy Collaborator

i got tTG results from our doc today. he told me normal is less than .7 kassie was 18.7, and molly was 22.8. he couldn't remember tianna's, but he said it was in the same neighborhood has the other 2 girls. i asked about there being no damage in the biopsies, but he said that they probably do have damage. the damage can be spotty, and if you miss it you don't see it. their numbers indicate that there is damage.

Mt IgG was 11 units (negative)

My IgA was 34 units (Positive)

My Tissue Transglutaminase IgA was 99 units.

My biopsy indicated "sever partial to near total villous atrophy"

I am 51 years of age and was only diagnosed nearly 4 weeks ago. I suspect I have been suffering from Coeliac disease most of my life, certainly for the past 20 years. Doctor after doctor said it was IBS!! Now at last I have found that it wasn't all in the kind! I thought I was a hypochondriac! Apsrt from not feeling physically well and wasting money on unprofessional doctors, I have also spent years seeking help for depression and anxiety (again spending thousands of dollars seeking help). It will be interesting to see if the anxiety and depression lifts to some degree as I try to stick to the gluten-free diet.

Hi Caeli

I've had positive blood results and am waiting for the biopsy before going gluten-free. Just wanted to say though that what you said strikes a real chord with me - the whole being a hypochondriac bit and having depression and anxiety. here's to a healthy furture for us :D

Sorry for the previous blank reply...this is my first post!

My TTga was in the 290s when first tested a year ago. Anybody have results like that??

probably not your situation @Mimiof2, but allow me to add one more to @trents list of celiac-mimics: "olmesartan-induced sprue-like enteropathy"

My dad had an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.  Fortunately, it was discovered during an exam.  The doctor could feel my dad's heart beating in his stomach/abdomen.  The aneurysm burst when the doctor first touched it in surgery.  Since he was already hooked up to the bypass machine, my dad survived ten more years.  Close call! Triple A's can press on the nerves in the spinal cord causing leg pain.  I'm wondering if bowing the head might have increased the pressure on an aneurysm and then the nerves.   https://gulfcoastsurgeons.com/understanding-abdominal-aortic-aneurysm-symptoms-and-causes/ Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Presenting as a Claudication https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4040638/

You have an odd story there. To me, the mechanical trigger suggests a mechanical problem and lower leg pain is a classic sciatica symptom. The fact that the clear mechanical linkage is no longer there does not take away from the fact that it was - maybe something shifted and the simple alignment is no longer there. There's also a good chance I am wrong and it's something else entirely. @Scott Adams's mention of shingles is interesting. It seems possible but unlikely to me, but who knows. However, I am writing here to reinforce the idea of getting the shingles vaccine. Ask anyone who has ever had shingles and they will bend your ear telling you how bad it is. I watched my wife go through it and it scared the bejeebers out of me. Even if you had the chicken pox vaccine, you really want to get the shingles vaccine.

Oddly this effect has gone now, just happened yesterday evening, the nerve pain is now back to its usual "unpredictable" random self again - but that was the only time I ever had some mechanical trigger for it, don't know why! There's no (or wasn't) actual pain in my neck - it was inside the leg, but when I looked down, now though, the leg pain just comes and goes randomly as before again.

I had MRI scan a few years ago showing everything normal, and now it's no longer triggering the nerve pain when I bow my head today - it only seemed to happen yesterday, and that was the only time it happened! Just seemed weird as no movement has caused my usual nerve pain before. It's normally just random.
