Keeping Food Cold While Touring Outside In The Summer

Any good suggestions for keeping some of my daughter's food cold while touring all day during the summer? We're going to Florida, will be out all day some days in theme parks where we will mainly need to rely on bringing food for her (she's also picky, so we plan to take yogurt, cheese, deli ham, etc). We can't carry anything too big since we'll be in theme parks most days. I figured we could freeze water bottles and carrots or grapes to keep things cold in a soft sided cooler in the morning, but in 90 degree weather, I figure that will only last until lunchtime. Otherwise, I figure we could ask for bags of ice when we get lunch, but those will melt quickly. Any thoughts on how to keep things cold until dinner time? Thanks!

Some theme parks do not let you bring food into the park anymore. If you are somewhere where it is easy to get back out to your car I would just get a large ice chest and put a lot of blue ice in it or blue ice and regular ice.

I would call the theme parks you are going to, to find out if you can bring in a small ice chest or one of those cooler bags.

I agree with freezing some water/juice/grapes since that would help keep everything else cold longer.

We are going to Disney, and they allow you to take food for dietary/allergy reasons. I know Disney is good with preparing meals for people with dietary restrictions, but my daughter eats a limited variety of food (she's 2.5), and only very small portions at a time, but pretty frequently. We just started the gluten-free diet 4 weeks ago, so we'd prefer to have safe things with us so she can snack on them throughout the day.

A lot of on-line container stores sell what is essentially a large insulated tote bag. I use it a lot because with frozen items it stays cold a long time, but is easy to carry like a purse (over your shoulder). In 90 degree heat, not much is going to stay cold forever, so you might want to rely on frozen water bottles for the cold, and pack food that is less dependant on temperature!

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
