Need Your Help...was Not Sure Where To Post This

I would like to put together a letter that briefly, but thoroughly, describes celiac patients and their needs. I would like to raise awareness for those that know nothing about the illness and for the many that are left undiagnosed. I would then like to get a lot of signatures and send it out to the appropriate people.

It is my overall goal and hope that all products sold in the US will be properly labeled with all ingredients. This includes all food, restaurant menus, shampoos, shaving gel, pills, anything... Instead of saying vegetable protein or spices, it should be clearly indicated what is in there and if the facility processes any gluten containing items, etc... I know this goal is far fetched, but I believe it will help others with allergies or perhaps those suffering from gluten and multiple other allergies.

I think right now the corporations have way too much power and say and we need to change things so that America can be healthy for everyone. I really believe America is behind the ball on this one as other countries are way more gluten friendly and now that Barack Obama is going to be our president I feel we might have a chance...

However, I need your help. I am terrible at writing and need help with putting a letter together. Is anyone interested in getting involved in this?? I think the more people we have the better it will be and is anyone good at writing??

I think the American Celiac Disease Alliance would be grateful for your help - I urge you to contact them! The represent all the large Celiac interest groups, and have pushed legislation through that is helping change labeling laws. Good for you for getting involved!!!!!!

Hey!! I would love to help in any way I can! I'm a television news producer and writing scripts is a big part of my job. Shoot me a message on here and let me know what you want me to do. I can even start writing something if you'd like...

Unless gluten exposure is happening on a regular basis, it is doubtful that blood antibodies would show up elevated in testing. It takes time for them to build up to detectable levels.

HI Nancy, In your first post, you said that you were diagnosed by biopsy and blood test - this is what I was referring to: the blood test is for antibodies that are made during active disease. After a period on a strictly gluten-free diet, the antibodies return to low level. It is a good way of checking for accidental exposure if symptoms persist. If you are reacting to foods that don't contain gluten, you may be reacting to something else. Alternatively, a condition called SIBO is common in people with coeliac disease, where there is an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine. This can be tested for with a simple breath test. The main treatment is with a course of antibiotic. Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)

I'm not saying this is what you have, but your description reminds me of Morgellons, which are not very well understood. Here is a review from a reputable source. If it seems similar to your experience, you could raise this question with your Dr.  https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/morgellons-disease

Hi Trent, no dairy. Other than good quality butter. I have been lactose free for years. No corn, sugar, even seasonings and spices. I don't eat out. I cook my own food.

@nancydrewandtheceliacclue, are you consuming dairy? Not sure if dairy is part of the carnivore diet.
