Wonder who made the recipe. Saw Martha on the View last week and she has no clue what gluten-free is. She asked Elizabeth why she didn't have any of the strawberry shortcake Martha brought. E said I'm gluten-free. Martha said she could just eat the strawberries and whipped cream off the cake.

I saw that--isn't her daughter gluten-free? I might be wrong--maybe it's her daughter's on-air partner.

That's what I suspected, lol!!!! She's adding her contributions now b/c one of her advisors probably told her we aren't going away!!!!! :)

I realize she must have a lot of employees to help with recipes and all the other stuff. I know it can't possibly all be her ideas. I would have hoped she would know enough to say , " oh, I'm sorry you can't have that.". She still has a lot of great recipes and decorating ideas.

Maybe the daughter or friend are the " take the croutons off the salad" type of gluten-free.

Watching that, I found myself thinking that since EH is so open about her Celiac, the producers could have tipped Martha off so she could have had a bowl of strawberries and whipped cream all set to offer her.

But what do I know.....

freeatlast, sorry to get off topic. That pie recipe looks really good :)

That's why I'm a little reluctant to try one of her gluten-free recipes. But, who knows? Her consultant who came up with the recipe could be really good.

I saw that- wonder if she received enough responses "educating" her about gluten free and this recipe is a minor form of damage control? I am surprised after all of her visits to the View that her peeps don't know EH is gluten-free. They know not to hand Whoopi a glass of champagne. Maybe her peeps are all Democrats. B)

Yeah- I was actually trying (and failing) at a reference as to why the folks at MS Omni Media wouldn't know (or care) about EH-daytime's favorite Republican- guess it didn't come out right. I'll blame this (and everything else) on brain fog. B)

A Democratic conspiracy against a prominent Republican with a big audience. :). That's the joke I heard.

Really don't think Martha was trying to harm EH. Just think she forgot and, on the spur of the moment, didn't think ot know about true gluten-free eating. I still like Martha.

OMG, the perfect Martha no longer purrfect??? Could it be??? Gosh, I loathe that woman - has done more to set the cause of women back hundreds of years than any male conspiracy ever could have  (Not that I don't like some of the stuff she does, unnerstand?)

Exactly! She has some cool ideas. She just makes it sound like it's all done by her. There are not enough hours in the day for even Rachelle to do all that! Lately, she has started showing her support staff. That's a good thing.

Hey, that's a good question: how many support staff does Rachelle have? :P Hundreds I bet. Whoops - someone let me out of jail; don't worry folks, I'll turn myself in. No need for the rest of the community to be afraid.

The scary thing is our Rachelle doesn't have support staff ( unless you count sending the kids to school & hub to work).

My dad had an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.  Fortunately, it was discovered during an exam.  The doctor could feel my dad's heart beating in his stomach.  The aneurysm burst when the doctor first touched it in surgery.  Since he was already hooked up to the bypass machine, my dad survived ten more years.  Close call! Triple A's can press on the nerves in the spinal cord causing leg pain.  I'm wondering if bowing the head might have increased the pressure on an aneurysm and then the nerves.   https://gulfcoastsurgeons.com/understanding-abdominal-aortic-aneurysm-symptoms-and-causes/ Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Presenting as a Claudication https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4040638/

You have an odd story there. To me, the mechanical trigger suggests a mechanical problem and lower leg pain is a classic sciatica symptom. The fact that the clear mechanical linkage is no longer there does not take away from the fact that it was - maybe something shifted and the simple alignment is no longer there. There's also a good chance I am wrong and it's something else entirely. @Scott Adams's mention of shingles is interesting. It seems possible but unlikely to me, but who knows. However, I am writing here to reinforce the idea of getting the shingles vaccine. Ask anyone who has ever had shingles and they will bend your ear telling you how bad it is. I watched my wife go through it and it scared the bejeebers out of me. Even if you had the chicken pox vaccine, you really want to get the shingles vaccine.

Oddly this effect has gone now, just happened yesterday evening, the nerve pain is now back to its usual "unpredictable" random self again - but that was the only time I ever had some mechanical trigger for it, don't know why! There's no (or wasn't) actual pain in my neck - it was inside the leg, but when I looked down, now though, the leg pain just comes and goes randomly as before again.

I had MRI scan a few years ago showing everything normal, and now it's no longer triggering the nerve pain when I bow my head today - it only seemed to happen yesterday, and that was the only time it happened! Just seemed weird as no movement has caused my usual nerve pain before. It's normally just random.

Very good pizzeria with small dining room in back of the restaurant. The owner's daughter has celiac & they have gluten free pizza & a gluten free menu. Some items from the regular menu can be made gluten free also. They have a lunch menu which we ordered from & my chicken with spinach & mozzarella over gluten-free penne was delicious. They also have Tuesday night pasta specials & Thursday night chicken pasta specials. We plan on going back for dinner soon.
