Glutened - Anyone Have Trouble With Riceland Rice

I am currently super-sensitive to gluten and woke up last night suffering with bad stomach cramps along with stomach gurgling and nasal wheezing with sinus plugged. I then had nightmares the rest of the night. This morning I still have severe cramps and feel bloated along with D.

For dinner last night I had baked chicken, fried homegrown potatoes and the only thing different was the riceland rice with hunts diced tomatos. I have had hunts diced tomatos before with No reaction so wondering if it was the rice or bacteria from the tyson chicken? I have had food poison before and normally feel nauseated but not this time.

So far this is one of the worst nights with cramping I have experienced since going gluten free last November. I normally get brain fog, gurgling, super chronic fatigue, sinus problems, body aches & pains, nightmares, snoring, and overall feeling of illness with gluten contamination, depending on amount.

Just trying to figure out what it was. Rice normally isn't a problem, but I have never had Riceland brand before and looked on their website which says "Riceland has grown to become the world's largest rice miller and rice marketer" and they also process wheat and soybeans.

Has anyone ever had problems with Riceland Brand Rice???

I haven't had any problems with Riceland, but I'm not a super sensitive. Do you have a lot of problems with soy? I ask because a lot of Riceland Rice is grown in Arkansas near soy bean fields.

I had some Riceland on Friday night, felt kinda crappy, and wrote it off to weather, then had the leftovers in my lunch yesterday, and now I feel like I did Friday/Saturday/Sunday AGAIN after being nearly normal yesterday. I'm not a super sensitive, but I've never had a reaction to Riceland before either... What kind of Riceland did you have? I had the Long Grain rice, was in a blue logo'd poly bag...

      Dang. I had a moment of hope that I could change my BP med and get off the gluten-free diet. Nope. More seriously, I hadn't seen this articles about this phenomenon before. This is one of the possible answers for people who post here about having celiac symptoms (including biopsy) but normal IgA levels, especially if they are saying that diet isn't helping...

      oops. I didn't see that before posting or I would have at least referenced it. The two recipes are pretty similar, but I think the newer one is a little simpler/faster. Next time though I will search more before posting.

Neither did surgeon)in 2006 and there was a leak 2023 during the same time I was dealing with covid, digestive issues, eyes and skin.Considering I " should  be fine" not consuming gluten/wheat, taking vitamins for sibo and STILL feeling terrible.It has to be parasites. I also take individual eye drops prescribed, could there be an issue there? Anyways my pcp thinks I need therapy because again they don't acknowledge my digestive issues because in my records it shows im fine, hintz the reason I had to go back to bay area hospital:(  I thought skin issues maybe sibo related but I feel and have seen and seriously trying not to think about it because it's disgusting.

      This may not be the cause, it's pure speculation on my part, but for 10-15 years I had a tingling/burning/electric-like shock sensation that emanated from my right-neck upward across the right-side of my head. I was worried about having a stroke or something so got all sorts of tests done, including an MRI, which found not much--only a minor degenerative disk in my neck--which I just accepted as the cause. Fast forward to when I was ~45 and I was hit with shingles in the EXACT place that this sensation would travel--I ended up with a very painful case of shingles that felt like the right-side of my head had been set on fire, and had the blistering and pain that ran along the exact path of nerves that I had felt this sensation travel along for the prior 10-15 years. For me, that time period was a shingles pre-cursor, and all those feelings were likely inflammation in my nerves. Needless to say I've not had this since getting my shingles vaccines at 50.  Your situation could very well be something else, but I just wanted to mention this possibility because your symptoms sound similar to what I experienced. I'm not sure if you're in the age range to get a shingles vaccine, but it may be something to consider.
