Ok I am currently being tested for Celiac but my son had a bad case of loose stool and there were little egg shaped white pieces floating in it He doesn't eat anything like that. I had someone suggest maybe he should be tested too. Does this sound like a Celiac symptom? After reading about it I know he does have a few symptoms like bad tooth enamel, tummy aches, and ADHD etc. Should I have him tested too?

If you have celiac disease, all first degree relatives (children, siblings, parents) should be tested (regardless of symptoms) and second degree (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) should be tested if they have symptoms.

My son and I were diagnosed. My other son tested negative, but had some tooth enamel issues. Our doctor (celiac specialist) did an endoscopy on him based ONLY on this. He has no other symptoms and a negative blood test. She was surprised when the biopsy was negative. We are watching him closely to see if he develops any other symptoms. In any case, he will at least have the blood test every two years.

Could the white spots be fat? Visible fat in the stool is a sign of celiac disease . . .

It certainly couldn't hurt to have him tested, and since you are waiting for your results, you might as well get the ball rolling with him . . . What would be the reason to not have him tested?

Just a protective mommy I guess. I don't want him to have to get stuck if he doesn't have to. lol It always makes me feel bad. So unless it is absolutely a must I try to avoid it. But based on what you have told me I think maybe he should be tested even if I come back negative.

Sounds like your mommy intuition is telling you gluten may be affecting your kiddo. I agree with cara - get the tests done on him asap. Good luck!

      Thankyou for that information yes I totally relate to that it's a very good read and I've felt like that too to the point were going out for dinner was aniexty before I even left home and it's funny her name is jean because that was my grandma's name and I also  believe she  coeliac undiagnosed because I look back now and she couldn't tolerate most things like me unfortunately she got bowel cancer it's such a shame it's so unrecognised by the medical profession and by people too who do t suffer it because it can be very hard living with it so thankyou so much for this

      I've had ibs for years however I have noticed recently when I've had alcohol and then the usual hangover takeaway I get a whole range of symptoms. To start with  Gurgling in stomach  Brain fog Occasional cramps  Diarrhea  Severe constipation where it comes out in slithers and very dry  Knot in lower right abdo side. Sensitive area to touch  Alot of mucus when passing stools  Feel sick    Had tests done but all came back okay apart from low in vitamin d

      Thanks for the kind words. It's hard to convince my doctor to investigate further because of a negative blood test and he only tested me for one marker. 🙃 I've come to the point where I need to take this into my own hands because the doctors are infuriating and it's not going anywhere. I've been gluten free for a week and feeling better but I was still consuming dairy and I think that's what's backing me up. Next week no dairy introduced.
