Rye Grass In Lawn?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Can rye grass in lawns cause problems for celiacs? Is it only if it goes to seed or is it ok if you keep it short? How can I find out if a certain plant is rye grass? I haven't found a helpful enough web site to identify it myself. Thanks for your help.

My understanding is that the grass in our lawns is different from the rye made into bread. Even if any grass to seed, you aren't likely to eat it or get it in your food, etc. The only time I can remember having grass in my food is if I was sitting on the grass eating.

I haven't seen any reputable Celiac organizations that have warned about the grass in our yards. Relax. :)

Relax. Not a problem. And even if you eliminated it from your yard, how would you avoid it in other yards or in parks?

When I looked it up, I found it was a different kind of rye. It was discussed here before with references.

"Ryegrass should not be confused with rye, which is a grain crop."

Thanks. I knew someone would have this. :)
