Low vitamin D levels are quite common now a days, and even more common amoung celiacs (possibly due to damaged GI tract causing absorption issues); I;m not sure how being Non-Celiac Gluten Intolerant affects D...

Sublingual vitamin B tablets are a good route to go for better absorption. The best is liquid vitamin D drops. 1000IU to 2000UI of vit D would be a good place to start for a child.

B12, calcium, ferritin, iron, and potassium are also often low in many people around here. It might be a good idea to check those out too.

I hope your son continues to feel better.
