  1. Celiac disease can change your digestive system forever. Even if you're healed and all that, your abdomen will never be the same. A lot of celiacs develop other sensitivities. Sometimes it's not enough to just quit the gluten. Your sensitivity to dairy might be secondary and will go away after you're healed. "True" lactose intolerance is genetic. Before...
  2. About the endoscopy. Ask for a double dose of sedatives! I did and I don't remember anything 😀 Make the glutening worth it. Don't eat boring bread. Eat cookies, cakes and pizza!
  3. Like others have said, the problem might be a lack of fiber in your diet. A common problem after going gluten free. My remedy is eating crispbread made from various seeds and nuts. You could make your own. Put whatever spices in it you want. You won't get more gluten free fibers than this. https://divaliciousrecipes.com/healthy-nut-seed-crispbread/
  4. Pour some Halloween-blood on your poo, take a pic and show her. "Look dawktor, I haz some blaaaaawd in ma stooool". You have to lower yourself to her level in order for her to understand you. Or you could find a real doctor instead of someone who paid a few thousand bucks for a diploma on the deep web.
  5. I suspect my employer deliberately gives the second dose to employees on Fridays in case we get side effects so we can be ill during the weekends. All the other days there are only short lines outside the vaccination place. On Fridays the lines are loooong. Got my second dose yesterday and so did a lot of my co-workers. Some of us, including myself, were...
  6. While anti-vaxxers are ranting about a few cases of serious side effects, the mortuary workers in India are burning corpses in the parking lots because the crematoriums are either full or the ovens have melted.
  7. Never had an eating disorder in that sense, but I am what some people would call a food addict, "foodie" or whatever. Totally agree with you. Nothing can replace the real deal. Real bread, real pizza crust, real cookies and cake etc. Those people who claim that gluten free is just as good or even better than the real deal are just coping. My way of coping...
  8. Lived a stressful life for many years. Mostly my own fault. I believe my celiac was triggered by chronic stress. Began with neuropathy: Tingling, zip zaps all over my body, even in my eyeballs. Severe burning pain in my feet. Sometimes so severe I couldn't stand up. My sensory nerves got so hypersensitive I could feel every seam in my clothes burning...
  9. I'm about to give up this liver project. The scale still won't move. I will continue to eat healthier and hopefully the gyms will open soon, but chasing numbers on the scale, that part is over.
  10. Probably because celiacs can heal and feel better without those steroids. I've been on steroids when I had inflammation in my facial nerves. Those side effects aren't worth it if a gluten free diet helps with the gut inflammation even if the process takes longer. Hyperactivity (acting like a meth user), insomnia, muscle weakness and reduced function of the...
  11. In the beginning, gluten free alternatives didn't fill me up at all. It was like eating air. Your daughter has my full sympathy and understanding. On top of eating foods that doesn't fill her up, she is also growing which of course also increases hunger. Does she/can she eat nuts? Making your own crispbread with nuts and seeds is a great alternative...
  12. Think I found the cause. Tromethamine is one of the ingredients in Moderna covid-19 vaccine. https://www.everydayhealth.com/drugs/tromethamine I will tell the nurses next time I experienced some of those side effects for a minute or so.
  13. You're lucky in the US. Here, dextrose and all those ingredients can be made from anything. I've seen labels with "(wheat)" written after those those ingredients. Some doesn't mention anything. If all of those ingredients are all made from corn in the US, it makes it a lot easier.
  14. Could be, but something is causing his low magnesium levels. Stress could be a cause. Magnesium works as a fuel and a regulator for stress hormones and if your levels of stress hormones are high, your body uses magnesium like crazy. Magnesium deficiency might not be the problem itself, but a symptom. Treating the symptoms is necessary to feel better, but...
  15. As a celiac who can't even handle the smallest traces of gluten I avoid everything with modified starch unless it's specified it's made from corn, tapioca or rice. I've even reacted to maltitol with 0,002% gluten. You don't know what that starch is made from. They can modify it any way they want, but if it's a couple of molecules left you might react to...
  16. Why fecal test? Isn't stool samples only used for checking bacteria and presence of blood?
  17. Been thinking about this and it seems like the anxiety was secondary to heart palpitations and shortness of breath. I didn't get anxiety and then palpitations and breathing problems, I got anxiety because I got palpitations and breathing problems. Normally, the anxiety feeling comes first and then all the physical symptoms, but this time it was the other...
  18. Doubt it. Never been an anti-vaxxer, not scared of the vaccine. This wasn't even Astra Zeneca's blood clot-serum.
  19. First dose today and I got an anxiety attack??? I'm not afraid of needles. I've been taking the flu shot every year since the swine flu (2009), countless blood tests, was a blod donor a few years ago before I moved and I've got a bunch of tattoos. I did not get the anxiety attack from the needle. It happened 5 minutes later when I was sitting down waiting...
  20. @Fran4 Yes, you can take it every day. I live in Scandinavia so I'm not sure which brands are avaliable in the rest of the world, but I believe Solgar Magnesium Citrate is pretty international. (Yes, it is, looked it up https://www.amazon.com/Solgar-Magnesium-Absorbable-Promotes-Suitable/dp/B012T97SDQ) It's a bit expensive, but it's high quality. Like...
  21. Muscle fatigue and shortness of breath are both symptoms of magnesium deficiency. Don't know what kind of magnesium supplement you've been taking, but magnesium citrate are better absorbed than magnesium oxide. I'm pretty sure your anxiety are making everything worse. It's normal to feel anxiety because of bad health, but the anxiety also makes your...
  22. The muscle fatigue, what does it feel like? Do you feel like you've climbed 10 stairs and your muscles are worn out when you've barely moved? Breathing issues, do you feel like you can't take a deep breath? That your breath kinda "stops" half way? Constipation is common on a gluten free diet. Gluten free foods lack in fiber.
  23. @CMCM Yes, the number of Celiac cases will increase after Covid (so will M.E). The number has already increased during the last years and I suspect it's because of the rise of stress disorders. It's no coincidence my first symptom of Celiac and my first symptom of stress came around the same time. Of course I didn't know back then what either of it was...
  24. I'm sorry to say it's not temporary if it's Celiac disease. Symptoms can vary over time. My GI symptoms came and went and so did my other symptoms like neuropathy, headaches, cankers sores etc. None of the symptoms were constant. When one symptom subsided, another one came and it went on like that for years prior to diagnosis. Off and on, off and on. You...
  25. Do NOT trust gluten free pizzas. They're gluten free per se, but they're probably baked in the same ovens as the regular pizzas. IMO, fast food places are the worst when it comes to cross contamination.
