Frito Lays Chips and Snacks
Ginger38 replied to Ginger38's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you! Thats my thoughts as well. Why else would they not label the others gluten free as well (if they truly were). I Noticed that also with Zatarains Spanish rice. It used to say gluten free on it. Our Kroger still has it labeled on the shelf as gluten free, so I bought it, ate it and then realized it no longer says gluten free 🤦🏼♀️ went to the stor... -
I’m so confused about Fritos lays chips / snacks. I looked on their website as well. Plain lays (yellow bag) are labeled gluten free like on the bag itself , but that’s it. Other flavors are not which makes me nervous, especially the barbecue . I thought Doritos were but they are not labeled gluten free. When I read on their website it’s like they are c...

Gluten Free and Diabetes - This is a NIGHTMARE
Ginger38 replied to Ginger38's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes my diet was that way for most of my life as well! Sounds like you are doing much better though … me not so much. Just don’t have that motivation I guess, idk. I know I’m very overwhelmed trying to figure all this out and do what I need to do all the time with 2 special diets or whatever. I have met with a dietitian and it was a little helpful as far a... -

Is There a Safe Gluten Free Bubble Bath
Ginger38 replied to Ginger38's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Hi, thanks for the quick response! 1) So even I find gluten free oats / bath would those not be okay? 2) what kind of plain epsom salt? I wondered about that, but wasn’t sure. So just plain epsom salt at Walmart or wherever? and just add to bath water? 3) And no essential oils or any kind of fragrance even if it’s from a natural source? ... -
I am desperate for some relaxing bubbles and soothing skin treatment. Been fighting this rash for months now. I don’t know if it is common to have sensitive skin issues along with all this, but I am trying to find a safe gluten free bubble bath I can use. I have inserted pics of the ingredients of an honest brand I found on the internet for sensitive s...

Ginger38 replied to Ginger38's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you! I wasn’t aware of iodine. So no iodized salt? That’s what I always use bc of thyroid?? I am currently waiting to get in with dermatology. I feel like this rash is definitely related to gluten bc it has appeared off and on for months now and it occurs in the same spots each time. It has me miserable!! It just keeps getting worse or flares bac... -
Aveeno and Dr Teals With Oats
Ginger38 replied to Ginger38's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you so much for responding! I was beginning to feel silly for posting my question. I tossed the aveeno and other oatmeal bath items I had.. bc I didn’t know what to do.. but man those oats are in so many bath things!! I had no idea. I did purchase some gluten free colloidal oat stuff on Amazon .. hoping it’s okay -
I am covered miserably in rashes. I used to get hives a lot when I was young and my mom had me use oatmeal in my bath. I got a second degree sunburn once and my doc said use aveeno bc the oats in the lotion are good for the skin. So I bought aveeno oatmeal bath and dr teals oat milk bath. Then I questioned it bc of the oat issue. Are these products safe and...

Gluten Free and Diabetes - This is a NIGHTMARE
Ginger38 replied to Ginger38's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi! Thank you for the response! I was prediabetic for years but guess I’ve finally passed that threshold into full blown uncontrolled diabetes. I do have a CGM which has been very helpful! I never thought about allergies but did wonder if it has something to do with grains. Seems my body can’t tolerate them or something. Gluten free is usually corn, ric... -
Gluten Free and Diabetes - This is a NIGHTMARE
Ginger38 posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I just don't know what to do anymore. The gluten free diet increased my blood sugar many years ago and despite positive blood work, meaning TTG IGA antibodies and horrid symptoms, I was told to go back to eating gluten (crazy I know) but I only continued to get sicker and sicker, so I eventually quit gluten on my own, but it has been a constant struggle... -

Digestive Issue?
Ginger38 replied to Ginger38's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thank you for this information! This opens my eyes to a lot. My last antibody test was still positive and I am thinking if I remember correctly that is also an indicator of gluten ingestion and intestinal damage , is that correct?? I have been on this roller coaster of trying to be gluten free 100% of the time for several years now. Unfortunately I don...
