  1. Just a little aside....those of us whom are diagnosed with celiac no longer suffer, because a multitude of symptoms are resolved as long as we live gluten-free. Thought I'd let you know...in case you have Celiac or Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity - once the transition to gluten free living is made, life is very good.
  2. You sound neither ungrateful nor stubborn. Sounds like you are in a tough spot. If eating gluten is causing the pain you describe, you need to get to a doctor. Never make a decision based solely on advice found in an online discussion. Good luck to you
  3. Unfortunately, they don't allow dogs except in the park within the park while games are not in play. There are, however, gluten-free dogs being served ... ok ... that sounds wrong too! Lol
  4. Petco now has gluten-free beer at each and every beer concession stand What's new at your ballpark?
  5. Dinner tonight...just made a cheeseburger on canyonbakehouse and loaded into my Petco Park Pack Great day... Hubs got on the bicycle track for the first time at our great old Velodrome in Balboa Park. Taught one son how to direct my Mom's PT/OT and tomorrow will teach the other son -- relief therapists is a very good thing for me! Going to...
  6. My thought was it is typo of tTG? If not, let us know
  7. Go. Enjoy that baby. Would love to hear how it goes
  8. Oh guys...it is absolutely fantastic...my son does a perfect impersonation of it....yet...s$#&...no easy way to say this...he passed away this week...same day as Mickey Rooney So sad, he was exceptionally funny! Hang on going to find the link... and he does more...some find it off putting but we laugh our collective asses off. And...
  9. Quiet in here tonight.... Wine was excellent. Son perfectly grilled an enormous tri-tip Hubs mad potatoes with garlic and cilantro for them and my purple sweet potatoes with g and c for me oh and broccoli too. Do-overs for lunch tomorrow...so one happy camper here. Oh ... other son and i had conversation about the dinner I was supposed...
  10. You were right Addie...most folks only need to limit....and I really do hope that is the case for everyone with HIT! Am always glad to hear folks get foods back -- especially now that I've gotten a bit back -- it's all good
  11. Two weeks! LOL...I did six months before I tried histamine challenges - and failed - so kept them all out until I finally added meds these past months....granted I'm on the freak scale for histamine issues. 18 months later and I now have young cheese and red wine Seriously, Addie is correct that removing them all for two weeks, followed by careful...
  12. Yep...once we figure out our silly health puzzles...many of us could write a book The important thing is to keep reading, learning and verifying until you get to put those last pieces in place
  13. Not me yet...got busy...which is very good...stuck at 1024 here. Son gave me another version with puppies instead of numbers...I was not impressed. Pulling regular version back up tonight!
  14. Just a suggestion...but wait three days before trying olive oil with something you know safe. I know it is frustrating...but if you ate something that you reacted to and you aren't sure which it is...give your body a break with safe foods for at least three days between trials. ps...next time you try broccoli...just steam it with nothing added. Enjoy...
  15. You are welcome SeaBass (my favorite fish) Hang in there...and hang out here a bit when you have questions or just need to vent from time to time -- many of us have been there.
  16. Welcome! The Total Serum IgA is simply a control test to assure that you have enough IgA to assure the IgA based celiac antibody tests are as accurate as possible. Let us know when you get your other results...many of us can answer testing questions. Yes, malabsorption of nutrients can be caused by Celiac Disease. Hashimoto's is strongly linked...
  17. Welcome Beth! Not to worry...it gets much better Take a look at this thread if you haven't -- it provides great information to give you a bit of a fast forward through the learning curve: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/
  18. There will be dinner...but I just arrived home with my favorite bottle of 'Deadly Zins' -- be back later with a report on what happened in the kitchen Happy Friday Dinner Peeps
  19. You can eat safely in places other the dedicated gluten free facilities. It takes thought along with preparation and a bit of patience to educate those around you, but many celiacs live safely in homes with shared kitchens.
  20. The drop in DGP-IgG while gluten-free is proof there is an issue with gluten. The Demiadated Gliadin Peptide test measures antibodies produced in response to the ingestion of gluten. Do you have the reference ranges for these tests? Was a Total Serum IgA run either time? Often when gluten is removed in someone with gluten sensitivity their body...
  21. Welcome SoreK! I have to second NotMe. When a person removes gluten prior to proper celiac testing they are often left in diagnostic limbo. Gluten challenges are often very frustrating and there is no data as good as the celiac antibodies and/or biopsies prior to gluten removal. You don't need to overdo the gluten consumption....a slice of glutenous...
  22. YAY for all of that! Started looking into the bread the other day and was distracted...focus, Lisa, focus
  23. Nice....throwing the locations in the glove boxes
  24. For me...I would not have this conversation in the grocery check out line -- simply because there is no way to know in a brief conversation the medical history/testing of this individual. I do, however, regularly engage in conversations in the grocery isles when I find people in obvious distress reading ingredient labels
  25. That you found improved health gluten-free? If you really are gluten intolerant or have early celiac....you will know it when/if you decide to return to eating gluten. In my opinion, you are ahead of the game simply because you are connecting the food you consume to your health.
