  1. I just plussed her...so when someone else also does, it'll all be good.
  2. New-to-Gluten-Free e-Book I just had an email this morning from Jules Shepard offering a FREE e-Book, which newbies (or even the rest of us) may find helpful in navigating the gluten-free lifestyle. If you're interested, grab it while you can. It's found in the Open Original Shared Link (scroll down the page to find it...it's near the bottom) Offer...
  3. I bought some after you suggested them ages ago. Nice! And even Wally World carries them.
  4. Since no two people react the same to anything, how will you know if you don't try them?
  5. Mine was about $20 and it holds a lot more than my Krups that's used for coffee. Open Original Shared Link.
  6. Was THAT all? I thought you were going to make lemon bars for yourself today??? No clue what I'm having for dinner tonight (trying to stay on topic here).
  7. I store flax meal in the fridge and have no problem with it going bad. I also have some in the freezer as well as whole flax seeds. I did buy a Mr. Coffee coffee grinder with a larger capacity to grind seeds, oatmeal to make oat flour, quinoa to make quinoa flour, etc. It does not get used for coffee.
  8. Sure you are!!! But 10 emails from you just regarding lemon bars?
  9. Potato salad and ??? Plus a glass of wine. Mid-90's here, too, with more of the same for tomorrow.
  10. Or use Open Original Shared Link on the grates (found in the section with the oven cleaners). Wal-Mart carries it. Heck, why wouldn't regular oven cleaner work just as well?
  11. You might want to use the google button on the top right hand corner of your screen and do a search for Disney World. There have been quite a few posts on the subject and from what I understand, it's an easy place to eat gluten-free.
  12. That particular recipe contains both baking powder and baking soda...along with a bunch of ingredients you may or may not want to buy especially not knowing if you'll really like the bread. Do you have a stand mixer? I don't think I could bake gluten-free yeast bread without mine. Really, yeast is nothing to be feared (spoken by someone who's baked...
  13. You're welcome, Lena. I don't know where you heard this is not safe. I googled Open Original Shared Link and came up with the following. Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride is a water-soluble derivative of natural guar gum, and delivers conditioning properties to shampoos and after-shampoo hair care products. Guar gum doesn't contain gluten...
  14. I also want to add - do you have a crockpot? They can be a lifesaver for a lot of us and barely any work at all to throw a simple meal together in the morning and have dinner ready at night. And if you and your family have a favorite meal, perhaps you can double the recipe and stick half in the freezer for another time. I always have a stash of homemade...
  15. Welcome, Lena! Unilever will not hide ingredients in products so they are definitely one of the "good guys". Specifically what ingredients are you suspicious about?
  16. I haven't gotten any such message but I'm using AVG Internet Security suite, not Norton. I agree with Vincent that it's probably a false positive.
  17. You might want to stick to a whole foods diet in the beginning...think fresh fruits, veggies, meats, etc. and skip the processed stuff for now. Think simple naturally gluten-free meals...things we've eaten all of our lives. If you could tell us specifically what you want to make, we can probably be of more help. In the meantime read this Newbie 101 info...
  18. Has anyone tried Open Original Shared Link? My daughter-in-law loves it but I had no idea it was gluten-free until I read the review. I bet the ChocoVine Raspberry would be good served over ice cream...maybe topped with some raspberries, too.
  19. I just thought of another recipe for Yeast-Free Sandwich Bread by Jules Shepard. I've never tried it but it sounds good although it does contain several ingredients you may or may not have. Is this what you might have had in mind?
  20. How about starting with a gluten-free bread mix to get a feel for it? It might be easier for you. Gluten Free Pantry has a sandwich bread that's not bad and King Arthur Flour has a bread mix, too. Edit: I know there are others, too, like Bob's Red Mill but some people don't care for the bean flour in it.
  21. You might also want to install Malwarebytes and run a full scan with it. It picked up some malware on my computer a long while ago after my granddaughter was doing a very innocent search for doll hats and she told me something was wrong with my computer. It took care of the problem even though my virus scanning program (AVG) didn't pick it up. I was so...
  22. It's too bad doctors talk to use when we're still in LaLa land. I couldn't remember a single thing my doctor said after my endoscopy and think I asked my son and DIL at least six times what it was. I don't know anything about nodularity of ileum...have you tried googling it to see what you find (unless, of course, someone knowledgeable comes on to...
  23. I kept my waffle iron and cleaned it well since it had only been lightly used. It was expensive when I bought it and the company was no longer in business. I haven't had a problem with it although I did make an entire batch of waffles using the cheapest ingredients I had...and then threw them all out.
  24. I wonder why people have to make it so difficult. Yes, please do post the results when you get them.
  25. Jules Shepard has a cookbook I like a lot entitled "Free for All Cooking" that lists substitutes for many things. She is also a prolific blogger and shares many recipes here. Open Original Shared Link She also has recipes on celiac.com http://www.celiac.co...0/Jules-Shepard You might take a look at those and see if they might be what you're...
