Newbie here...

I am scheduled for celiac testing tomorrow....

I am 29 years old, had a large DVT(blood clot) in my leg 2 years ago. I have a long history of GERD.

I have APS(antiphospholipid syndrome - http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/antiphospholipid-syndrome/DS00921)

a autoimmune blood clotting disorder(I will be on Coumadin, blood thinner, the rest of my life)

I just wondered if anyone else here has celiac disease and APS?

I won't jump to conclusions or ask a ton of questions until I get a formal diagnosis of Celiac disease --- or if it comes back normal and I am still having symptoms I will go off Gluten for a few weeks and see if my symptoms go away!

It sounds like going Gluten free is a BIG hassle! But I will await and see if Gluten is the cause of my symptoms....

Welcome to the board.

I don't have APS, but I do have ITP which is another autoimmune disease that is essentially the opposite of APS - it causes you not to clot so bleeding is a problem.

As Karen said, AI diseases tend to run in clumps. If you have one AI disease, you are more likely to get another.... Unfortunately.

Good luck with your testing. This link(page 12) lists all the tests you might want to request.

Don't be too discouraged by going gluten-free, I wouldn't call it a hassle, more of an adjustment and when you start feeling better its way worth it and you won't look back!!!

Welcome to the board! :)
