Sounds like you should definitely ask your doctor to run the complete celiac panel for you. How long has this been going on?

The rash and weird gastro symptoms have been going on for about a year or so

Yeah, that rash could be a pretty good sign that you might have celiac, plus the other things you are experience fit as well. I'd go see your physician and get a celiac panel done and have them look at that rash. Better yet, see if you can see a GI doctor.

I hope you can get an appt soon. Definitely could be celiac's. ( Could your thyroid issue be off? I don't know much about thyroid/symptoms that go with it) Get that blood work drawn though - then endoscopy would be the next step. Make sure they draw the full celiac blood panel. Keep us posted!

The rash could be dermatitis herpetiformis - I don't have any experience with it but from what others have posted here it seems that having DH almost always means you have Celiac.  They can also do a skin biopsy from next to where the rash is (not of the rash itself) and test to Celiac that way.  If you search the forum for DH you should be able to find a ton of information.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
