Positive EMA, Negative ttG

Hi all:

I recently tested positive on the EMA test, but negative on the ttg test. Has this happened for anyone else? I have an endoscopy scheduled soon, but my doctor seems confused by the positive on one blood test and negative on another. He asked me to get the genetic testing done.

No one in my family has been diagnosed with celiac disease, but we do have a history of stomach problems (my great aunt died of stomach cancer), other autoimmune disorders (thyroid issues), anemia, vitamin deficiencies, etc. Until I tested positive, none of us really knew anything about celiac so never considered it as a possible diagnosis or got tested for it.

Would love any insight y'all might have on how likely it is that I'd have celiac if the ttg was negative but the EMA was positive. Thanks in advance for your help.

Also, for reference, my tTG test was as follows:

t-Transglutaminase: 2

(Negative 0 - 3, Weak Positive 4 - 10)

Immunoglobulin A: 106

Negative (normal): 87-352

Thanks for the reply and the links! I'm finding this forum so helpful. I hope my endoscopy will bring back a firm diagnosis. It would be nice to have an answer to years of health issues.
