low blood sugar

I felt great a few weeks after going gluten-free. finally started loosing weight as well. the last few weeks I have not felt good. ok in the morning, then slowly start getting brain fog. shakes. pains. is low blood sugar a side affect of going gluten free????

Hi Stacie,

Sorry you're not feeling good. I found I was a bit up and down in my first months gluten free. I'd had blood sugar issues before, they've largely improved since my diet change but it hasn't made me immune to them.

The single best thing I did was change my breakfasts, increasing protein and fat and reducing carbs. That kept my blood sugar in check and stopped the cycle of food cravings and sugar crashes. Omelette's for the win!

Maybe if you share a typical day's food for you some of the forum members can suggest some changes you could make?
