Hello

I bought one of the First Cleanse-Renew for Life cleanses. Has anyone tried any of these? This one is marked on the box gluten free. I just was curious if anyone had tried and had any bad symptons.

Thanks

Hi Meggy,

I have done First Cleanse before. It is very gentle and did not bother me at all. It is great if you are not an experienced cleanser, as it is very easy to follow and gives you a bit more insight as to what cleansing feels like.

The thing about cleansing is that you have to do it at an optimal time. You should not be having "D"......or if you are, consult a Naturpath before starting, you shoundn't start one when you immune system is compromised, and if choosing one for a specific ailment (there are ones for liver cleanses, heavy metal detox, etc.) then make sure you do them in the recommended order. Also, you should only do one if you are in a relatively calm state. It is tough to be stress-free, but you should be feeling content, with supportive friends and family around.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I put on over 12kg by eating protein with every meal, 3 to 5 times a day. Eggs, Chicken, Tuna, Turkey etc. I stay away from too much red meat as it can be inflammatory. Scott is correct. I've come across a bunch of Coeliac PT's on Tiktok and Instagram. They all say the same thing, the key is getting enough protein and consistency.

It's great to hear that eliminating gluten has helped alleviate symptoms like eye burning, which is a significant and positive change. The first and most important step is to ensure you're consuming enough protein throughout the day to support muscle repair and growth, which can be challenging with a busy schedule. Since you're already physically active at work, adding focused strength training just 2-3 times per week can make a major difference. Bodyweight exercises like squats, push-ups (modified if needed), and lunges, or using resistance bands at home, are excellent, efficient places to start. Remember, consistency with these short sessions and prioritizing post-workout recovery, including good sleep and hydration, are just as crucial as the workouts themselves. It's a smart, gradual process at any age.

Trader Joe's carries a good variety of affordable gluten-free foods like bagels, hamburger buns, pasta, etc. I like Franz Gluten Free bread, which is available at my local Costco. Food For Life and Little Northern Bakehouse (advertisers here) also make excellent gluten-free breads. Costco also sells gluten-free pizzas, crackers, gravy, etc.
