Going In The Hospital For A Few Days

Hey everyone,

Well, I'm going in the hospital tomorrow. It's related to my epilepsy (I know others on our forum here have had seizures/epilepsy too). The doctor is going to try and reduce the number of meds. I take, but I need to be in the hospital because she is going to do it rapidly.

I'm actually kind of excited. It's the first "new treatment" I've done in years for my seizures. I hear the med. that she's putting me on has horrible side-effects (It's called Topamax), but everyone is different...so it could work for me.

I'm just ready to quit having the seizures, migraines, fatigue, vertigo, sleepiness, muscle weakness, etc. that I have on my current medications.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

hugs. -Julie

Wow. Prayers for you! It sounds like what you've doing hasn't been working too well so hopefully this will be the right change.

Wow Julie--this does sound scary but exciting at the same time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for sure--I hope this new treatment is successful and that you don't suffer too many side effects.

Take care--we'll see you when you're up to it :D

I hope everything goes well and that they are able to feed you safely. I have a history of seizures that I was lucky and turned out to be gluten related. Please be really careful with what they feed you. It would be a shame to have everything your going to be doing negated by them glutening you.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
