they put me to sleep and it was fine, but ive been really bloated and my abdomen feels sore...is this normal after the procedure? can the biopsies cause the discomfort?

Yeah, Jason...it can happen. The walls of the intestines have no nerves, so you would not feel where they biopsies.

But you will find yourself with a lot of gas caused by the procedure and possible discomfort. It will "pass" (if ya know what I mean) ;) Nothing to concern yourself with, unless you're on a date :D

Gosh I sure do hope so, and I hope it was for at least 3 months.

Jason it is normal to be bloated and have some gas. They blow you up to get a clearer view. As said it will 'pass'.

Nope didnt go back on gluten - ive made so much progress and according to my physician, who is a celiac specialist, the gluten challenge is "barbaric" - ive only been strict on the diet for 3 months with a few accidental glutenings here and there but the doctors all feel that they might still be able to get some idea of whats going on. the reality is i do better w/o gluten so I will just avoid it but the biopsies might still prove useful. he sawe a region of inflammation and biopsied that as well but everything else was normal
