Am I Gonna Keep Developing New Allergies/Intolerances?

granted i have some parasites & gastritis that I have to deal with, which might be causing some of my problems..but as time goes on I find I am able to tolerate less and less. for the longest time it was just dairy..as soon as i cut out gluten i started noticing problems with other foods. I used to eat quinoa all the time and now it lays on me, cant do tomatoes, chicken is starting to bother me as well as fruits and sugar and corn. I need to do something otherwise one day I will be on a diet consisting of white rice and thats it. I feel like ive addressed the leaky gut issue, flora, etc but i just keep getting worse. could it maybe be the parasites and the gastritis? only time i feel fine is when i eat brown rice, fish, pork, beef, brown rice cereal and spinach and a few other things.

is there a good chance this will all reverse someday? im starting to wonder if i just left myself alone and stayed on gluten if things would been ok.

until you can get rid of those parasites, really, all bets are off. that should be priority #1.

Tiffany already said what I would say. Any intestinal infections, whether from bacteria, fungus or parasites, will affect your digestion. My 6 infections (4 different bacteria, one parasite and candida) definitely impaired my digestion. Let's talk about testing for food allergies AFTER you treat (kill off) the parasites and have high enough levels of good bacteria to digest what you eat, IF you still have digestive problems.

Eliminating gluten (and dairy) did not eliminate all my gastro symptoms. Neither did eliminating my other 5 diagnosed food allergies. Only after I treated all of my bad gut bugs, did I finally have normal stools and experience no pain after meals.

It might not be that you are intolerant or allergic to all these foods. Maybe your whole GI tract is just so sensitive when you eat because of the parasites and all the other things you have dealt with in the past couple of years.

Right now I'm super sensitive to everything, but it changes all the time. One day this bothers me and the next day it doesn't. I pretty much have a GI problem after I eat most meals and I'm thinking that my gut is just war ravaged from all the years of being undiagnosed celiac. It's a Catch 22 because it takes energy to digest food, and yet your body needs so much energy for healing. Food going through the GI tract is probably irritating but you need food in order to heal.

Continued prayers for you Jason. I really hope that you find the answers soon and I again encourage you to just get quiet when you can and give your mind peace. Sometimes the answers are in there but in our confusion and frantic searching we can't see what's right in front of us.

Yeah thats another good theory. Right when i went 100% gluten free I got hit with the parasites so i barely even had any time to recover. im still amazed how clean my insides are...biopsies all negative and no abnormalities in my colon. Basic blood work is good too ..just baffles me

Do they know how you got the parasites? Did you travel somewhere?

This whole disease is baffling. The doctors not knowing jack is baffling.

About 4 yrs ago now, I suddenly developed a long list of allergies similar to yours: corn, potatoes, yams, nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, legumes, cinnamon, olives and chicken. When any of these was consumed, a mass of tissue under my right jaw would swell and there would be difficulty swallowing. As you said, all that remained was basically rice, fish, pork, beef, and a few other things.

During the past year, the allergies have subsided. I am eating all the foods in the above list now. Since there was a sudden onset, I can

What kind of test diagnosed your long list of allergies? Or did you assume from your symptoms that you reacted to those specific foods?

Dehydration is a huge problem for anyone with an autoimmune disorder. I was told that it is my number one challenge right now and that I have to think of myself as chronically dehydrated since I have 2 autoimmune disorders, thyroid and celiac. I have had to drink Gatorade daily in addition to a lot of water or I really feel sick, worse than I already feel that is.

People have given me a hard time about the Gatorade because of chemicals, etc. but every natural solution I've tried has either made me sick with D and/or dizzy spells or not worked at all. So Gatorade it is. I tried electrolyte packets, electrolyte drops and homemade solution. The drops and packets were super expensive too so I'm hoping I can return them.

Jason, I bet the parasites are a big part of your problem. I'm glad that they actually found it because I know you've had every test known to man and they haven't been finding anything. I'm sure you feel like a science experiment at this point after all the poking, prodding and machinery!

The reaction was very specific and clear-cut. It never varied. Once I realized this was food related, it was easy to associate cause and effect. All that was required was the time and patience to systematically identify and eliminate offending foods and then wait to see if anything else caused the same precise problem. The process was identical to what we all go through with the gluten-free diet. Once the list was complete, the problem never occurred unless I made a mistake. When that happened, I always found I had consumed a hidden source of something on the list.
