Popped Sorghum.

I got some sorghum for popping and popped it for the first time. I used the same oil that I use for popcorn but made the mistake of using the same amount I would use for popcorn. And this was too much! I tried to blot some oil up with paper towels but it had already started popping. I also took it off the heat too soon. Thought it was burning but it wasn't. And I didn't put enough in the pan. So the end result yielded about 2 T. each for daughter and I to eat. I salted it, put it in tiny bowls and we ate it.

It was sooo cute! Like dollhouse popcorn. Tasted just like popcorn. So this would be a good thing to eat if you have a corn allergy. Would also make a good diet snack since the kernels are so tiny, they take a while to eat.

I got mine online. Not sure if there are any brick and mortar stores that sell the stuff.

I could be wrong but I think you need to buy the kind that says it is for popping. I got mine from American Spice.
