Probiotics - Which Do You Recommend?

Recommended Posts

I was on Align but the nutrionist at my GI's office said it was too weak and suggested Sustenex which I have been using - and am feeling somewhat better but not great :(

Which probiotics do you use and how effective are they?

My GI recommended Florajen3. I think they sell them at most drug stores, usually in the refrigerated section. (They're supposed to be kept cold). They seem to be pretty effective for me. I stopped taking them for a month, and definitely felt significantly worse for the last couple weeks of that month.

The only kind I've been able to find that is free of all the things that make me sick is Enzymedica Pro-Bio. It's pretty spendy by my standards, but I feel much better when taking this stuff.

Dx'd with Celiac June 2010 via positive biopsy. I got tested because both of my kids (3 and 5 years old) have multiple food intolerances, with gluten being the worst offender.

Free of: grains, dairy, soy, legumes, nightshades, nuts, fish, eggs, pork, citrus and tropical fruits (latex allergy), stone fruits, melons, squash, strawberries, flax, cruciferous veggies and celery.

Yes, I'm HUNGRY.
