Anyone Else Feel A "lump" In Their Stomach?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I'm new to this board and have recently had an endoscopy done with biopsies taken for possible Celiac disease and for H.Pylori Bacteria. I won't know for about 5-8 more days. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced feeling a "lump" in their stomach almost four fingers width down from where their ribs meet at the bottom. I have this lump feeling there and it gets worse as the day goes on and the more I eat during the day...which frankly hasn't been much lately.

I was just wondering if this symptom fits more with Celiac or the H Pylori?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

It could be a hiatal hernia, which is common among those with Celiac.

Welcome!

Thank you :D I actually thought that too Except that my Gastro doc said that a hernia would show up on my cat scan and there was nothing there.?? Very confusing how I can feel a lump but they can't see it on a CT or an abdominal ultrasound. I can only feel it pronounced when I am up standing and walking around or sitting. Not when I lay down flat. And of course the doctor had me lay down to feel my abdomen.

I had this when I was eating gluten and still now sometimes when I eat something that triggers a reaction- like oatmeal for example. It's just inflammation I think that makes it feel like there's a lump in my stomach
