I've seen posts about having separate utensils and stuff, but if it is going thru dishwasher between uses is it neccasary?

Yes. There are some things like wood, cutting boards, and plastic that can be damaged by heat in the microwave or on the stove (ever examined the edge of a spatula) that no amount of cleanliness will de-gluten.

Is it necessary to have different cooking equipment if you are just gluten intolerant and not celiac? My test results aren't back yet but if it turns out it is not celiac I am wondering how strict I need to be with the gluten-free.
