  1. M decided it should be in pasta with other lasagnas. I thought about making copies and putting recipes in more than one place but ......too much work. I got some cute binders and the only recipes in these will be the ones I know we like. A pocket page in each section for recipes I want to try but haven't earned the right to be in the book. I had a friend...
  2. Trying to re- organize. - no...that implies they were organized before. Trying to organize my recipes. Can't find anything! So ....does Tex Mex lasagna go in " pasta" or " Mexican style" section?
  3. Last night's dinner was " Experimental Snack Night": Bacon jam Potato snowballs ( mashed potatoes around a piece of moz or cheddar, coated in bread crumbs and baked" Mozzarella " sticks" ( spray mini muffing pan with a good coating of olive oil, breadcrumbs, cheese cube, cover with more bread crumbs & spritz of olive oil) Champagne Cheddar spread...
  4. Good to get that taken care of. Did you get a crockpot for Xmas?
  5. Sorry their was no Chickie resurrection. But love the name Re-Peep! Hope he/ she does OK.
  6. You have to be careful with these lists, you can't tell how old it is. Ingredients change. The lists can't possibly have every food in the store so don't limit yourself to them. Not sure if this person really knows what is gluten-free and what isn't. Check what country these lists are for, too. Sometimes ingredients are different in different countries...
  7. This is the one I am following. It seems pretty standard. It isn't spicy. It tastes good. I think the choices of dried peppers I had at the grocery were too mild. Next time we are near the Mexican market, we can get better peppers and try again. Or maybe a mix of peppers next time. http://whatscookingamerica.net/CynthiaPineda/CarneAdovada.htm
  8. And you could have some tomato salsa to pass for those who like it! But it sounds yummy to me. Not sure how strictly you are not eating tomatoes, I like Pacific Spicy Black Bean Soup ( not spicy really) for enchilada sauce. It does have some tomato paste in it.
  9. Forgot to add- black beans cooking in the other crockpot with onions, garlic & bacon. Margaritas, please! Everything but the kitchen sink nachos at our house - J made them at Thanksgiving - smoked turkey, moz, cheddar, bacon & salsa
  10. Carne Adovado that had been marinating in my fridge for 1 1/2 days and will now cook for 12 hours. Probably some hot water cornbread and rice with tomatoes cooked in it. Or maybe corn spoonbread? Haven't decided yet whether I want to fry (HW cornbread) or bake (spponbread).
  11. I got this for Xmas http://www.cafepress.com/+glutenfree_apron_gluten_bites,555156733
  12. Sorry about the chickies. Sorry about your back, too. Sounds like everyone should have just stayed in their snug beds where they belong. I know people who have brought back frozen kittens, so it could work for chicks?
  13. Going to try to make a sour dough starter. Not the same one that was just posted on C.com .
  14. My neighbor makes " mashed potatoes" with cauliflower & cheese. Her little grandson loves it and everyone eats it.
  15. I would like that. I sometimes add some frozen zuc to stuff for me. I can "hide" it in a few recipes. In the crockpot, if you cut it small, it cooks to mush.
  16. She liked it and her teen son liked it. It isn't low cal because its still full of cheese in her recipe. I'm looking thru my recipes for a moz stick one I have misplaced. If I see that, I'll post it so you can see if its the same.
  17. Do you just boil strips of zucchini like a pasta noodle? My SIL might like this. Maybe she should offer that in her " healthy" restaurant . She is diabetic and has to watch the carbs. She makes pizza with a cauliflower/ cheese crust.
  18. January has 31 days, so the 2 nd might be correct? I will be posting about cheese laden dinners every day in January ( whether we are eating them or not!).
  19. Question for the Bacon Jam aficionados - Is it best hot, straight from the crockpot? Or cooled? Or do you re- heat it?
  20. I was thinking that, too! I need some serious help! I can't stop eating peanut brittle!
  21. You could go back and edit it. You typed before the final [. Quote ]
  22. Dumb question for those of you who have tasted the Bacon Jam. Would it be good on cornbread? The cakes kind? That's what they like the most of gluten-free rolls type things at my house.
  23. M learns best when he is moving or listening to music with a beat. This seems to be a boy thing. He was fortunate to have some teachers, 2-5 grade, who let kids stand at their desks and fidget as long as they didn't bother anyone. His 3 rd grade teacher knew he was interested in animals and gave him a book of animal hero stories. He would do his out loud...
  24. http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/food/recipes/sunnys-bacon-bark/ Bacon Bark! Sounds like what my dog would do to get some bacon but looks interesting. Not sure what Hungarian Paprika is or what could sub for it here. Have to go to Penzys this weekend, so may see if they have some. We found an olive oil and vinegar store ( next to Penzys). You can...
  25. We have Penzys spice shop & I think they have sumac in a small jar for the same price I got a big bag from the Halal meat store. If you have a Muslim community, you might have a store like that. We have a Persian restaurant and they said they would sell me some. Be careful, some packages of sumac have salt added which you don't want. You can add your...
