  1. And this is where the shoveling comes in!
  2. My sis wanted to make those gluten-free for me. I told her not to bother. She said she wanted new muffin pans! She wanted to bring them for Thanksgiving to give my mom something to take home. I told her just to make gluten ones and leave a few for my boys. Have you seen that new TV show "New neighbors"? The aliens crashed on earth and bought a whole...
  3. My hub would like to drive a tractor and plow the drive. When we were inColorado a few weeks ago, we looked at the real estate listings. There was a nice house with a nice second little house. The second house had the most gorgeous kitchen. Just need to a find a property with a few more houses on it. How many do I need? Love my USA pans, too!
  4. You told me a real meal has more than 3 ingredients. And we would have a tractor or truck with a plow so you could " shovel"
  5. When I start my gluten-free compound/settlement Lovie has to come cook for us! Probably give her the main house cause it will have the best kitchen. Can't say what I'm having. Irish told me I can't say left-overs or a meal with less than 3 ingredients.
  6. Could be made without the milk. Really tastes best if it sits overnight in the fridge. You could add veggies. You would want to pre-cook them and put them in after the blender part. Chunky Chicken Potato Soup 3 med potatoes, peeled & cubed 2 cups chopped onion 4 cups water 1 tbps chicken flavored bouillion granules (I use 2 packets...
  7. cooking for us and food to take to my parents. I made some pumpkin spice cookies. Some for us & some for my folks. Made a batch of beef stew in the crockpot, mostly for my parents, but will keep at least 1 big serving for left- over night or M's lunch. Making tortillas soup with lots of chicken, corn and black beans for us. my folks wouldn...
  8. where's the protein? Cake for dinner or breakfast is OK once in awhile, but you consistently eat small amounts of foods and call it a meal. This isn't good for your health.
  9. Do not tell my son - who has a t shirt ' If bacon grew on trees, I would be a vegetarian" that you can get a side of bacon at dinner, too!
  10. And its always in season!
  11. I think the opposite might be true. But if you need calories, whole milk is even better., Its still only 4% fat. We are having Minksys pizza tonight. I'm having "Nature's Choice" -Artichoke hearts, zucchini, green peppers, mushrooms and onions, topped with sliced tomatoes and slivered almonds.

  13. The homemade food is probably healthier. What is the "recipe"? Would be nice to refer people to this thread in the future.
  14. Pork chops marinated in Whorchestshire sauce and pepper and cooked on the grill. Foil packets of red skin potatoes in olive ol & Italian seasoning & salad. He cooked some chicken for enchiladas tomorrow night.
  15. Not really sure what is going on here. You post links to restauraunts' gluten-free menus. Then you post about how you wouldn't eat at them. Also, these menus change often. Some I have seen even say they are good for a few months at a time. Something to keep in mind for anyone who might read these lists later.
  16. I reccomend you get a Rival Crock-pot (Crock-pot brand). They last the longest and seem to have the best safety record. I have one that a plastic part of the lid broke. LId works fine. I wrote them to ask about buying a replacement plastic piece and they are sending me a whole lid, free! I have seen the smaller 4 qt ones at Target & Walmart for...
  17. All the talk about pies and pie crusts, made me want a pumpkin pie with a ginger snap crust. So we are having that , burgers, oven fries, tossed salad with apples on it.
  18. Minestrone and focacia bread.
  19. What we are saying is you aren't glutened from steam. I think I have tried to explain it several times. I even suggested an alternative way you may have been glutened - splashes or drips. There is no point in my continuing this discussion as I think I have said all I can on the subject. You appear to have a reason to want to argue that you are not...
  20. I think we are posting at the same time. I have decided to know longer have gluten pasta in my house. Everyone likes rice pasta and corn pasta, so I will provide that. the reason I have decided not to have gluten pasta anylonger is not because I get sick from the steam but the splatter,. They boil over the pasta, it splatters gluteny pasta water...
  21. First, we are not saying you are a "pyscho". I think people have politely tried to explain this to you. Many of us have gotten anxious about being around gluten. I still think some of that boiling liquid splattered around and got on something. Beer has gluten because it isn't distilled. You do not capture the steam (vapors) and let them cool to a...
  22. I was just trying to explain physics & chemistry and help you find the true cause. But I do agree, he doesn't need to be brewing gluteny beer in your home. I understand its a messy process.
  23. I think what you may have missed in Peter's explanation is that a gluten particle (molecule) is too large and heavy to rise in steam. Its quite possible some boiling liquid was sloshed around and you got some of it on your counter, plates, etc.
  24. Please note that this thread is 6 years old. Product info discussed may have changed in 6 years. Most vinegar is considered safe for Celiacs. The exception is Malt vinegar which contains barley malt.
  25. Whew! What a relief! How do you make it with corn?
