  1. They are just out to sell you something. there may be some good points, but they won't tell you unless you buy thier books, etc.
  2. I hope, if you posted in various places that a product has gluten, but it does not, that you have gone back and corrected that. Making claims like that can cause you legal issues.
  3. People miss- using it, testing foods it can't test, cross- contaminating the sample themself, etc. these are all reasons I don't go by what some random person says tested positive. Seen it with other testing methods.
  4. You might want to read this Open Original Shared Link

  6. I can't even imagine going to Cheesecake Factory! What a mess! They can't get regular orders right, and they are always so busy. I can't imagine they would give any care to a gluten-free dish.
  7. I doubt it. Maybe a bag of flour. Wash your hands well when you are done with your shift. I have seen some cashiers wearing food handler type gloves. You could take them off at the end before touching your food. would keep you from absent mindedly biting a finger nail or something.
  8. I know there are meds for it. You might try some. I know people that have had great response to temporary medication and then a careful diet. But they aren't as careful as you are - so maybe you could get a few foods back if you healed?
  9. We had one here, but it closed. I think all the different on-line groups are where they are going. You can certainly ask questions or vent here. You might check facebook to see if there are any local groups. Our local FB one is mainly for restaurant and product recommendations and experinces. You might be able to get a few people thru the FB to meet...
  10. I don't know anyone that works at Outback, but I know people that have managed and waited tables at thier other restauruant chains. They have pretty intensive training and procedures in place for gluten-free. I know Outback has a test kitchen restaruant that tests new gluten-free as well as regular items. If they company didn't care, why would they spend...
  11. I have had the gluten-free dessert at different Outbacks. It is very rich after a big meal. But, other than over eating, I had no gluten problems. I believe this dessert is made the same for all customers, whether they specify gluten-free or not. At least that was the way it was when I have been there
  12. These things are rarely good the next day. You should eat them fresh from the oven for the best flavor!
  13. If you have Celiac and have been gluten-free, you shouldn't be having all these bowel issues. They need to look and see what is currently the problem.
  14. People who want to be tested for Celiac should be eating a normal gluten containing diet. Eating a piece of bread before a Celiac blood test won't make a person who does not have Celiac test positive.

  16. Sometimes "shared facilites" means separate buildings on the same corporate campus or separated parts of buildings. I really worry more about "shared machinery" than facilities. And even if they use shared machinery, if it tests at <20 ppm, they may call it gluten-free in the US.
  17. Legally they have to say "gluten removed:" not gluten free. Its the restraunts that call it gluten-free
  18. If you were gluten-free for so long, a couple of little bits of gluten might not be enough to elevated the antibodies that make it to the blood. Because of this, your negative Celiac testing means nothing. also, from my understanding, negative is not 0 for a reason. It may be that all people have a small amount of these antibodies naturally. It may...
  19. Ask the place ahead of time. Maybe go by and sope it out. What would contaminate the tea? What else do they make? Where do they make the other stuff?
  20. Yes, that is a good deal. HAve you tried Kind bars? They are nuts and other things. Some are like a yummy candy bar. Sometimes you can find Luna bars in a box of 6 and they will be less than $1 a bar. I think I have gotten them at Target that way.
  21. I find rice flour to be gritty, usually no fiber, and not very flavorful. I prefer blends with things like sorghum and millet. I am not sure there are any on the market, I just make my own
  22. It does seem odd. Because the only vinegar that has gluten is malt vinegar. Also, last I heard, there is no way to test and get "0". The tests are usually <5 - which is safe for Celiacs.
  23. I have had both and they are fine. I don't LOVE them - but they are gluten-free
  24. I have eaten at several different Outbacks with no issues.
  25. A medical doctor won't care about alternative and unproven testing. I hope he remembered to tell you that you need to be eating gluten for an extended period before any medical Celiac testing.
