I also have terrible brain fog right now, I don't know what is going on.

I can't remember what I posted last and to who, what I read and what I need to post......my brain is totally glazed over :blink:

Birdy, I think I read about your appt last, sounds like you are in really good hands and all things are being addressed. Very excited for you!

You and TS please keep us posted as things progress.

Tabasco, great news about your weight gain. SOrry you feel like death, that is NOT good.

Carla, how did the orange juice jug thing go yeaterday? And don't you leave for Naples soon? You lucky duck :)

Donna, I also have a lot of neck and shoulder pain, always have since I was in my teens.

Sherry, I think it was you who asked about the epsom salt baths, I haven't done one in while and I wasn't sure about the exact recipe...I was actually asking Donna and Carla advice as well. I still haven't figured out if epsom salts or baking soda is better to use?

Ok, attention all my insomniacs!!!!!

I was channel surfing the other day and I came across this infomercial advertising some new book about 500 or something natural cures and at that exact moment they were discussing insomnia.

Get this, the "cure" for that is chopping up an onion and putting it in a glass jar (I'm not sure if you cover it or not, but I assume you do) before you go to sleep you are supposed to take a huge sniff of the onion  .

They swear it works. Anyone want to test this out???

Is there any evidence of the body being able to heal itself and/or fight off bacteria/parasites without the use of drugs and or herbs?

I have had a relatively good day and a half. Less pain, less regurgitation, but much more gas and bloating (still pain when I eat).

If I keep on keepin on, is there a chance with good nutrition/sleep/hydration my body can fix whatever no doctor can figure out what's wrong?

Does that make any sense?

I had good sleep, exercise, nutrition, supplements, etc. for years. I was known as a health nut. I did live relatively healthy until four years ago, so it helped. However, once your body is overwhelmed, it needs additional help. I couldn't get better on my own.

In my case, it wasn't just addressing detoxification of toxins, I also have had to address the bacteria/parasites with herbs and antibiotics.

It is possible to overcome everyday stresses on the body and let it heal itself, but once you reach a certain point of illness it seems that it takes more to regain health.

Rachel, it's good to see you're coming back to the land of the living ... or should I say the land of the mentally awake? LOL

Donna, great to have you back! Haven't had a chance to look at the pics yet.

I just had a conference at Chloe's school. The teachers have seen a HUGE difference in her THIS year ... different teachers than last year, so we're not even comparing to last year. They've seen her change in the couple months of school this year. She's doing great and requires less and less intervention. YAY!

Yeah...especially with me running my mouth. :P

Heck....you guys think I have alot to say in my posts!! Just wait till you hear me on the phone.

Andrea can confirm this I'm sure. B)

I had one person tell me that after getting to know me and after being around many mercury toxic people over the years...theres just no doubt.

She said mercury toxic people tend to go on...and on...and on...and on. So yeah thats me. I think she was saying I talk too much.

Yep, you do like to talk. That's ok though, because I like to listen. :D

You mean you haven't always talked this much?

Kristina,

As far as the body healing itself I have to agree that it can given time. You would need to work on alkalizing your body since parasites like acidic bodies. I have a parasite that came up on ASYRA testing but I'm not on anything in particular for it that I know of......unless Pau d'Arco works on those. None of my family has been put on a special diet for anything at this point so I assume we don't have bad cases of candida and such......just supplementation to build the body up.

Kassandra,

Hope your phone calls accomplish something today.

Julie, I'm not trying it. B)

It was recommended on LN to take both Epsom Salts and Baking Soda together in a bath.

Orange jug went fine .... almost filled it up completely! :o It was a six hour test ... waiting now for it to be picked up.

I leave for Naples in the morning!

I don't think I want to try that. I don't like raw onion.

I also agree with Carla that if the body is too overwhelmed with health issues that it's going to need more serious help in getting better.

Have a fun trip Carla!!:D

Excellent news Carla :D Tell Chloe she's done such a good job with all of this and give her my best.

Just wanted to weigh in on the body healing itself question melmak posed.

I guess I have mixed feelings about this.

I tend to think it can depend on when you address the situation, I think as more time goes by it becomes more difficult, not necessarily impossible, but a lot more complicated. So if you can get after it early on in the game I think you are better off.

I agree with Rachel that our bodies are smart and has the amazing ability of healing itself, but there are so many factors involved (genetic, environmental, etc.) and a lot of unknown.

I think great things can be accomplished by simply making diet changes, clean living, exercise, meditation/positive thinking, detoxing, things like that will clear out a lot of offenders and body stressors, but additional help/assistance/support might be needed.

Julie,

That onion idea sounds like it would make me cry (onions are so strong...my eyes water). And, I don't think I need ANY help sleeping! That is not my problem at all!

Carla,

HAVE FUNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats for Chloe! I am very excited for her.

Andrea,

Thanks. I am just about to start!

Everyone,

So since I am no longer waking up at 5 am to get to school I actually made my bed for the first time in months today!!! I am so proud of myself.

But, then I got in the shower, and washed my face with my face wash. Then I guess I meant to look for my exfoliant, but instead I took my bodywash and washed my face AGAIN!!! Lyme brain! It was funny though!

Thanks Carla - I guess my dreams of spontaneous regeneration are dashed... for now.

This damn doctor still has not graced me with a phone call. Its infuriating.

Someone mentioned early maybe teflon. Good idea, but I don't use the stuff, nor plastic utensils.

Its gotta be something. I feel like I should buy Sherlock Holmes hats for everyone in this thread.

So... my GI still hasn't called me back and her assistant said she is in procedures all day and that I am "on her desk with a large stack of charts for her to get to"

So I called my primary care back. Apparently my primary care doctor is now not returning until February?!

So I might have exaggerated a little, but I got an appointment for tomorrow morning. (I have an HTML class all day, so I don't have to worry about work)

I didn't really lie, I said "it hurts when I eat." (Which it most certainly does)

And when he said "do you need to be seen sooner than February?"

I said "yes."

When he said, "do you need to be seen sooner than next week?"

I said "yes"

So that is my lie. I did say that I had a barium swallow and my anatomy is fine...

Carla,

Thanks for even more clarification. :D The doctor's not only competent, but he's so nice, too! :D At this point Mom doesn't feel that I'm not up to the antibiotics, I have numerous GI problems (seeing a pediatric GI specialist next week, too) and other unrelated parasites. She wants to work the the naturopath to get me fixed up a bit so that I can handle the treatment, and 3 months seems like a good time frame... except for the patience part.

That's awesome about Cloe's progress! I must be so exciting for her as well! Have a wonderful trip!

Donna,

Thanks for the encouragement! The Dr's happy with Labcorp, and I'm ok with it for most things, except for all the Lyme stuff. I suppose I'm probably being a bit overzealous... part of a sligthly paranoid personality. That's wonderful that you're reaching the point where you can start treatment!

I was shocked that she gave me her number, too! I hope those injections help with your back/neck/shoulder pain. Have you every heard of ortho-bionomy? I've been seeing an ortho-bionomist for a few months and she's helped me improve in leaps in bounds. Of course she does have her limitations, my neck and shoulders especially are still sore and she's unable to fix that. Another suspicion of Lyme there.... <_<

Sherry,

As far as baths go making sure to drink a lot of wateris something I've found very important. I usually ended up drinking about 32 oz. during an hour-long bath. But that is quite a bit.

Andrea,

I hope that chlorella works for T and that you and Mitch are able to stay on the drops.

Julie,

Thank you! Wow, I don't think I'd try that anytime soon! Usually when I chop onions I end up getting an adrenaline rush by trying to get it over with and into the pan before my eyes start stinging. :P

Kassandra,

That's happened to me so many times! I'll forget if I've washed my hair yet, or reach for the conditioner and discover that I've just used the shampoo again! It's so funny!

Kristina,

I hope your appointment goes well, and congratulations on getting in so soon. For any "normal" person, if they were having the problems you are they wouldn't put up with a whole week's wait.

~ Birdy

when you are taking a binder like chlorella how do you really, really know if it's working or not?

My poop looks metallic or opaque looking. Is this normal? Also it gives me head pressure when it's floating in the bowl.

When I sweat I can scrape nasty thick whitish green stuff from my face and body. It's really grimmy.

I wonder if these are toxins.

HOw is everyone today? :)

Andrea I can't really do organic ice cream because of the gums they put in it like carob bean gum or guar gum and stuff.

Birdy, I just bought Humaworm online for parasites in the GI tract. Looks like good stuff and several people on Lymenet were talking about its success. Since I know for sure I have Klebiella, Citrobacter, and Babesia, I figure there are others there as well, so I'm giving it a try. It's herbal. I also take a lot of probiotics.

Lisa, I'm doing pretty well today, how are you feeling? It sounds like toxins to me!

Um, no, I don't think I'll be trying the onion thing anytime soon. Cruises work for me.

I've always just taken epsom salt baths, but recently saw the epsom salt/baking soda combo suggested. When I told my massage therapist, her exact words were "wow, that's a strong bath", lol. She is the one who told me the epsom salts were mainly for pain, and that the baking soda was mainly for detox. But I can definitely tell you that the epsom salts alone felt like they were detoxing too.

Donna, great to have you back! Haven't had a chance to look at the pics yet.

That is such fantastic news about Chloe!!!!

So since I am no longer waking up at 5 am to get to school I actually made my bed for the first time in months today!!! I am so proud of myself.

Kassandra, congrats on making the bed! Seems silly, I know, but the day I started making mine again was a big day.

:o Yikes...I ALWAYS make my bed (such as it is...just a comforter and some blankets so they mostly just get pulled up a bit)...but lately I've been going off to work without so much as a thought to straightening it.

Its gotta be something. I feel like I should buy Sherlock Holmes hats for everyone in this thread.

Carla wants pink and I think lime green or purple is my color of choice, lol.

I was shocked that she gave me her number, too! I hope those injections help with your back/neck/shoulder pain. Have you every heard of ortho-bionomy? Yes, my LLMD was surprises that no doctor had given me the diagnosis of fibromyalgia. He did because I DO have it, but we're both sure it's caused either by the Lyme, the mold toxicity or the metals toxicity. That would explain why nothing we've tried so far has taken the pain away completely. It's lessened but not gone. The injections did help with most areas except the neck. The pain in my shoulders was reduced quite a bit, but I do still have sore spots. I've not heard of the ortho-bionomy...will ahve to do some searching on that, but like you I suspect it won't change a lot until I address the lyme, and I can't do that until I address the mold and maybe the metals, lol.

You guys are scared of smelling a little raw onion :lol::lol:

I just bought Humaworm online for parasites in the GI tract. Looks like good stuff and several people on Lymenet were talking about its success. Since I know for sure I have Klebiella, Citrobacter, and Babesia.....

Carla, I have klebsiella too. I would love to know where you got this supplement, would you mind pming, or e-mailing me the website??

So when I have an really bad angioedema outbreak I have the regular angioedema wheels all over my body but then I have all these large red spots in the shape of a bullseye or multiple rings, anyone have any thoughts about this? Could it be a lyme rash or some kind of parasite rash?

Has anybody heard of anything like this talked about around the lyme message boards?

Julie, it's just humaworm.com.

I took oregano oil, plant tannins (www.intensivenutrition.com), and uva ursi for the klebsiella and it helped a lot.

I don't know about the rash .... I have heard of people getting bullseye rashes when they herx.

Julie, it's just humaworm.com.

Thanks so much Carla, I just ordered some! A bottle for me and one for my mom.

I am going to try this and see if it makes a difference, one girl wrote a testimonial about it helping her angioedema :o

It's a very informative website too.

Yep me too. Mine doesn't EVER go away though. :(

At this point, yes, but before I was like Donna, it was pretty constant. I didn't realize I was in so much pain until it went away.

Prior to lyme treatment this was constant for me too. It was especially bad at night. I was living on 4 aspirin every four hours. Maybe that is why it is so hard now, to have it again after being free of it for several years.

Right now isn't the worst I've had. The worst is when there is a burning buzzing pain in addition to the "hurt" pain. That's the 9-10 for me!!

It may not be that you're not eliminating well, it may be that you are producing more toxins that you are able to eliminate .... keep detoxing!! :)

Hmm, if I am not eliminating well how best do I detox?

I don't like hats, but my hubby would probably like blue.

So I might have exaggerated a little, but I got an appointment for tomorrow morning.

We'll be waiting for an update. :)

Thank you! Wow, I don't think I'd try that anytime soon! Usually when I chop onions I end up getting an adrenaline rush by trying to get it over with and into the pan before my eyes start stinging. :P

That's like me if I use fresh onion......except I'm not fast enough. I always have hubby cut onions if he's home. :P

I don't know about the rash .... I have heard of people getting bullseye rashes when they herx.

I don't know about the rashes either Julie, but I've often wondered if your outbreaks are somehow tied in with the lyme cycle or something like that.

Donna, thanks for the info about epsom and soda. I would try the plain epsom if I could but don't have a tub at home.

For hat color--I'll take the mauve!!

YAY on the good report re Chloe from her teachers!

Julie, I'd try the onion--but my insomnia has been much better the last couple of months. Hardly using ambien now. So I don't have to do the onion thing, whew!

Lisa, I don't know, but it does sound toxic. I think that you are eliminating is a good thing though.

Andrea, I hope the phone consult is helpful in determining a course of action.
