Glutening And High Blood Sugar

Got a question for all you type one diabetics...I've been a diabetic my whole life, and a diagnosed celiac for only a few months. The last couple of times I've been accidentally glutened (once a couple of weeks ago, and then just yesterday) my blood sugar suddenly shot up very high. So now along with all the other horrible symptoms like bloating and cramping I seem to have this awful thing happening, too. Anyone else experience this? There was no other obvious reason for this sudden jump in my BS... :(

Just to show that no two celiacs are alike, I get the opposite effect. My blood sugar takes a nose dive and remains problematically low for two to three days. It is as if the food containing the gluten is not absorbed, and subsequent food is not absorbed either. Simple sugar requiring no intestinal degestive action is all that seesm to get through.
