How Would You Feel?

When I started my new job 2 yrs ago, I was one of 4 new people who started in the office. I got close with one of the other new women. We would eat lunch together and then other two new people started to join us. (everyone takes lunch at different times and does different things at lunch) After awhile everyone started to go their seperate ways. By last fall it was just her and I and John and one of his coworkers. After the new year, she joined the gym at work and her and the girl next to me go there on the lunch hour.

By spring I noticed my once really good friend was getting distant. At first I figured it was because we didn't eat lunch anymore so we weren't really getting to talk and visit. Well, lately she has been making strange comments. She gets upset when I take a day off. She makes comments like someone has time to burn. I used to shrug it off. On Friday I had emailed her about John's sisters baby. It was a general email, there was nothing else in it. The girl next me (the gym buddy) who is also a good friend asked me to answer her phone while she ran down to the bathroom. I was sitting at her desk when her screen flashed with an incoming message. It was the message I had sent to the other woman. She had fowarded it on to this girl. This girl knew about John's sister and all so it wasn't information she didn't know. I just can't imagine why she would send it on.

Now I spent the whole weekend just plain dreading work tomorrow. Of course no one knows I saw that message because I don't want people to know I saw it. Would you trust them? The girl next to me didn't ask to receive the email. I am just not sure what to do. I feel like crap. It bothers me. What would you guys do?

Wow, that really sucks. It does hurt when people change like that. There is nothing you can really do but try to be normal. Just be nice to her like always and try not to worry about it too much because you'll just feel awful all day. Just keep going and as time passes you'll be fine. Good luck, BlueEyedManda.

Just go on being nice and remember not to tell her any secrets ... but if there's something you want everyone to know, tell it to her, she'll spread the news :D.

It makes me glad I hadn't said anything about work since it got passed on. :)

So, I contacted Scott Adams, the author of that article and also the creator/admin of this website, and pointed out to him the need to clarify the information in the paragraph in question. He has now updated the paragraph and it is clear that the DGP-IGA does serve the purpose of circumventing the false negatives that IGA deficiencies can generate in the tTG-IGA antibody test.

Has anyone experimenced enlarged lymph nodes with celiac? Both in the neck and groin area. Imaging of both areas have said that lymph nodes are reactive in nature. However, they have been present for months and just wondering how long this may take to go down. Been gluten-free for about two months. Blood counts are normal.

Hmm interesting I just assumed that any “IGA” tests including the DPG iga would be negative in a person who is IGA deficient but maybe that is not the case for the DPG test.

If you were just diagnosed I can say that if you go 100% gluten-free should should see dramatic improvement of your symptoms over the next few months, but the hard part is to stay gluten-free. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
