Do Gluten Reations Intensify After Being Gluten Free?

Recommended Posts

i am still pretty new to the gluten free life.

(7.5 weeks and counting! : )

i read a lot about

"being glutened."

and how ppl get

so sick after a glutening.

my symptoms have

always been pretty mild.

nausea

fatigue

stomach aches

(8 days of stomach aches

is what initially sent me to

the dr.)

have ppl always had such extreme reactions?

or once you are off gluten for a while,

when you do get glutened, is

it worse than when you WERE eating gluten?

I have always had the Big D and constipation. If I get CC'd then the Big D is worse than before. I have been gluten-free since Arpil and haven't been CC'd in awhile(thankfully). But remember that for some it takes time to feel better. I know that you said in a previous post you were going off dairy, good idea...give your body some time to heal.

Also, I had to go off caffine...I thought I was getting glutened b/c I wasn't feeling better...until I went off soda!

I feel like I am more sensitive now that I've been gluten free for years. Although eating gluten free leaves me with absolutely no awarenesses of my digestive system now (yay!) so it would make sense that even small amounts would be more noticeable as opposed to before when I was always feeing sick in the gut in some way. Hmmm, does that make any sense?
