Question About Labs 6 Months After Gluten Free

Recommended Posts

My daughter was diagnosed in October, biopsied for confirmation in December & gluten free since the biopsy. Her labs in October were all really high. We just retested her to see if she was responding & her TTG, IGA & IGG were all normal. He anti EMA was positive. My question is this......why would everything be normal except that one? I believe that Iread that the EMA was a measure of villous atrophy & since it could take a while for that to heal, it remains positive longer. However, I feel like I read so many conflicting things that I wsnted to ask others. Thanks!

This stuff can take a really long time to heal. 6mos, 1 year, 2 years... You could find out if any other foods might be aggravating her so she could lay off them for awhile. Otherwise doesn't sound like a big deal.
