Recommending A Good Doctor In Az

These have been WONDERFUL doctors in and around Tucson, Arizona

Dr. Wataru Tamura - A GI doctor in Oro Valley, Arizona. He is REALLY knowledgable about Celiac Disease, keeps very up to date on the latest research, etc... He will want to test you out the wazoo, which can be a bit 'urg' to argue with if you simply don't have the money, but he is still very good for the disease.

Dr. Min - An Allergist in Tucson. He is very good working with you on allergies and issues, and seems to be very careful of his celiac patients. He's also willing to think outside the box, so when you have some weird, celiac related problems, he's been great for that.

Dentist! Dr. Mooberry - a dentist father and son team in Tucson. They got two celiac patients within a month, I was their third, and they already had all the knowledge about their supplies. They can now tell you exactly what has gluten and what doesn't, and they are very careful of their celiac patients. They are also just as careful of food allergies. They may not be completely knowledgable, but they are VERY willing to learn and be careful of whatever you talk to them about.

BuddhaBar, I came across this thread while searching online for celiac insomnia (having also scared myself stupid by finding out about fatal insomnia) and it did bring me some piece of mind as it so closely matches my own experience. I know this thread is old now, I hope you're doing well, and thanks for posting your experience.

That's great news, @HelloFlowersGoodbyeFlour.  And you might find that if you do have asthma, keeping your reflux under control may help, if my experience is anything to go by.

Quick update I ended going to a clinic they heard me wheezing and gave me a steroid shot I’m feeling much better now and I’m planing on getting reevaluated for asthma as the clinic doctor is thinking it might be that based on how I reacted to the steroid. But he couldn’t diagnose.  thanks again to everyone that applied (still seeing the gastrointestinal doctor too!)

Definitely worth speaking to your gastroenterologist about this. My own told me that by using Gaviscon a barrier forms over the contents of the stomach and stops gas and acid irritating the throat.  In fact, he said to me that because I found relief using Gaviscon that was a very clear indicator that reflux was the cause of that particular issue.   A wedge pillow will really help with this - or raising the top bed legs with bricks.
