Minimum Amount Of Gluten For Testing?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Anyone know the recommended minimum amount of gluten that has to be consumed in order for more accurate blood testing? I have a follow up appointment with my GP in 2wks and I want to request further testing (she only did ttg IGA and total IGA which were neg). I was gluten reduced for about a month, by that I mean I was gluten free most days but did have some intentional glutenings and also didn't pay attention to CC, and I've added gluten back in this week and of course I feel pretty lousy.

How much gluten do I need to eat and does it need to be daily?

Sorry your having to go through this. Yes you should eat gluten daily and at least 3 to 4 slices of bread worth. If you are reacting to gluten you have an issue with it so after all testing is done you should go strictly gluten free no matter what the test results are. False negative testing is not uncommon for both blood and biopsy. The DGP is one test you want to make sure is done as that is the best one we have at this point.
