What am I doing wrong?
GodsGal replied to Vapor_girl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi! I noticed that you mentioned broccoli. Foods like broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage don't work well for me if they are raw. Have you tried steaming it instead of frying it? Are you working with a dietitian? That helped me alot. -

Some of them may not know or remember. The pandemic has limited contact with some of them. I don't think that they are trying to be disrespectful. I think that they just don't yet understand all the ins and outs of celiac. Some of them who would normally have given glutenous gifts gave other things...

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a happy new year. I just got diagnosed with celiac disease last February. So, this was my first Christmas season post diagnosis. My family often gives homemade gifts like bread, cookie mixes, soup mixes, jellies, jams, pie fillings, etc. Most of the food...

I totally agree. I would be a little careful about how the dietary information is presented though. Right after diagnosis, I would sometimes struggle with information overload. So, I think that having a good support system is vital.- 5 comments

Could it be Celiac disease?
GodsGal replied to Madmichie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Madmichie! Thanks for posting. Definitely request the testing. I am not a medical professional. Celiac disease can have a wide variety of symptoms. I feel like it is a disease that is not well known, even in the medical community. If the doctor seems dismissive or reluctant, I would ask for... -
Symptoms/ feeling lost with it all
GodsGal replied to Gerry92's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Gerry! Is your doctor a gastroenterologist or a general practitioner? Even very good doctors don't know everything. They are still human. 😊 Feel free to seek out a second opinion or ask for a referral. I am not a medical professional. Glad you are getting it checked out. I would definitely se... -

Iam glad to be a part of your community, even from the USA! 😊 I think that celiac disease is not yet very well known in society. So, people don't have any concept or point of reference to help them understand. Sometimes celiac disease is not that easy for other people to see. And, there's no...

I totally get it! I would probably have the same questions and worries. And, I would probably also have a hard being gracious with myself. 😉 Sounds like you have a good plan!

Hi Sarah! Getting glutened is not fun. I am not a medical professional, just a fellow celiac disease sister. So, I don't know the answer to your question. I would suggest that you get in touch with your doctor and ask them. They should know how it may affect your test results. In the meantime...

Hi Dawn! First of all, I want to say, "You can do it!" I was diagnosed with celiac disease (celiac disease) last February. It is a rough transition. You are taking the right steps and asking the right questions. My doctor also said that I should avoid oats for at least a year due to...
