Your suspicion is correct. Autoimmune diseases tend to cluster. If you have one you are much more likely to have another. In my family it is hashimotos (thyroid) and psoriasis (skin).
So sorry to hear of your health issues. How awful for you to suffer so much.
Your endoscopy showed "some erosion" which might mean villi atrophy which would indicate Celiac. Have you done a complete Celiac panel INCLUDING IgA. They said you were immuno deficient so they may have tested your TOTAL IgA.
Do you have copies of ALL of your lab work and endoscopy reports? It is your legal right to have them. If you dont, request copies. Let us know exactly what they tested and the results and we can help you as much as we can.
It certainly would not hurt at this point to try a gluten-free diet. It is a healthy diet. But if you want Celiac tests, then you need to keep eating it until AFTER all of the testing is complete so they will be accurate.

Yes. Doctor. Right away.

You really should get Vit D tested before supplementation. In general you can safely take 2000 IU a day without problems. But because Vit D stores in the body, you can overdose (which has it's own problems like bone loss). You need 15 minutes a day of full sunlight on 90% of your body in the tropics during the Spring/Summer months to get enough to make enough Vit D for your daily needs. Northern people should almost always supplement. But a simple blood test can let you know for sure.

Just as I thought...It is the tannins in the tea that are a GI irritant. Google:
tannins + tea + gastrointestinal
You will find lots of support for this.

If you are open to it, I would suggest Acupuncture. It can open up energy blockages to different organs. I know many people who have benefited from it. And there have been many studies done on it and it is recognized by the AMA as a valid therapy. My insurance even covers mine.
At this point for you, it would be worth a try.
The needles are sooooo tiny. I dont feel a thing and I find it relaxing.

I D.O. or Chiropracter is a good idea. They are very very gentle with babies and I too know of a few who have had success with it.
I believe in it myself. I had a pinched nerve for over a month that my regular doctors couldnt do anything about. 1 visit to the Chiro and it was better. By the 3rd visit I was all better. That was all I needed. 3. It never came back.

They can find nodules...but they cannot tell if they are cancer or not. Sometimes they just "watch" them to see if they change. Sometimes they do a needle biopsy. In my Mom's case, thank g-d, cuz the needle biopsy showed her cancer. They caught it in time and she had her thyroid removed.
My PTH was normal when my Vit D was in the toilet. So there are no hard and fast rules. But getting the PTH checked is a good idea.

Oh joy!! Have fun. At least the muffin liners will be in place so no worries about the pans.

I always my whole life ate expired yogurt up to a week or so after expiration. Never had a problem. If kept cold, it should be just fine.
After a week expired I would tend to use the yogurt in cooking then up to 2 weeks after expiry.
You are fine.

Welcome to the club. We are happy to help. Hope he recovers quickly!
Did you get DD tested for Celiac too? Her issues could be related. Also at least you or your hubby has the gene(s). You might think you dont have symptoms, but you would be surprised at how good you feel gluten-free if you are Celiac without knowing it and go on the diet.
PLUS it is A LOT easier for the whole house to be gluten-free.
See about get everyone tested. Might as well do it now in the beginning of your journey.

2 things caused my daughter pain when I was BF. Garlic and Salsa. So I didnt eat them and all went well.
If you have already eliminated all the gassy (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, peppers, garlic, onions, beans) and hot/spicy (any red pepper, chili pepper, jalepenos, etc) and that has not worked then a gluten-free diet for you and strict BF would be my choice for now.
Goats milk IS NOT ideal for a human infant. It IS for baby goats. And besides ALL of the goats milk you can buy legally is pasteurized (i.e. dead and without enzymes). Back in the day they did use Goat's milk as a sub for breast. But it was RAW goat's milk which is as close to human as it gets. But the dead stuff is crap. In Florida I get raw goat's milk from a local dairy but they have to mark it "for pet consumption only" for it to be legal. We drink raw goat's milk keifer.
And SOLID food is a BAD idea at her age. My g-d!!! IMO that will wreck her. Babies arent developed enough for solid food until somewhere after 4 months and if you can BF for 6 and then introduce foods that is best. Back in the day at around 6 months, Mom's would "chew" their own food and give the baby a little bit of this pre-chewed food. Mom's saliva and enzymes would start the digestion process for the baby because at 6 months babies dont have all of the enzymes to digest fully. This is how nature intended it. Not a jar of gerber.
We are so far from what really makes for healthy human beings. We just keep going against nature.
Please do not let your inlaws sway your care of your baby. I'll bet you have instincts and that they are correct.

ohhh...the cashew/butternut combo sounds delicous!

If it were me, I think I would bake one of those small turkey breasts and take it with me. And maybe a sweet potatoe casserole. Those two things would be enough for me. And it would be simple.
Make sure you get your food first.

Firstly, if you go gluten-free even for a week or 2 and then get tested they may ALL come back negative (a false negative). You DO NOT want that. So if you want to get tested you MUST keep eating gluten. Do not stop. Or it ruins the tests. They would be useless.
Secondly, I am sure each insurance carrier has different rules about PECs. You might call several of the larger ones and ask it Celiac would be considered a PEC.

The liver makes more ALP than the other organs or the bones. Some conditions cause large amounts of ALP in the blood. These conditions include rapid bone growth (during puberty), bone disease (osteomalacia or Paget's disease), or a disease that affects how much calcium is in the blood (hyperparathyroidism), or damaged liver cells.
If ALP is high, more tests may be done to find the cause.
My guess is that it is thyroid related (your parathyroid). You should have them test your PTH (parathyroid hormone) and get an ultrasound of your thyroid done.

Me too. I hope gluten-free is the answer. Try cutting the dairy at least for a few months too to give her time to heal. Soy could also cause problems. Keep her with simple foods as much as possible. Meats, veggies, fruits, nut butters, rice cakes, rice, sweet potatoes and winter squash are excellent and kids usually like them.

Just in time for Fall...I will try with Almond butter.

You sure love your sweet liquidy yummies dont you?
What are the ingredients?
And you know...sometimes other things make us feel bad. For instance, I started taking a new vitamin C yesterday, so today it is the big D. Vitamin C can do that to you. And Tamarind fruit will give me literally non-stop D for 24 hours. Scary D.
Maybe you are sensitive to something else in the syrup.
-
It is just a "healing" process. Think of a cut. It hurts at first (symptoms) then you clean it and take care of it (but it doesnt heal instantly)....it is sore at first (where you are now) and with time it gradually gets better till t is all gone.
-
Stinkier poo....YES!!! Oh yes!!! And weird colors and weird consistencies. You guys are detoxing. Ride it out. It WILL get better.
-
I suspect detox too. Magnesium is a muscle relaxer true and it can help as it is mildly sedative. You could also try a small amount of Melatonin about 1/2 hour before you turn in. Chamomile tea is also helpful, but could make you get up to pee in the night.

Kerri...you need a complete Celiac panel run and you need to have been eating gluten in fair amounts daily for a good 3 months before the test. Otherwise there is a strong risk of a false NEG. Then you will need another biopsy to take samples specifically for Celiac. This is the only way to get an official dx for Celiac.
If you dont want to do that, then you can pay out of pocket for Enterolab to test for gluten sensitivity and get the genetic testing to see if you have Celiac genes. This will not dx Celiac, but will tell you if you are intolerant to gluten and if you even have the genes.
Do this first and depending on your results you can move on to your kids.
The other alternative is just to eat a gluten-free diet and be healthy. Same for your kids.
What you decide is entirely up to you.

I take Solgar's "Gentle Iron" and gluten-free Floradix. I drink either hibisicus tea or Emergen-C when I take them so they absorb better (vitamin C helps iron absorb). I am still working to get mine optimal.
I was at 10 and got to 22 (which helped me process my Armour). But not near enough. I have not tested in a few months. But my goal is 70. I have read research that if I can maintain a Ferritin of 70 for 6 months my hair will grow back.
It has thinned so.....

Really work hard to be 100% gluten-free. Check toiletries like lip stick, creams and such. No old scratched pans or cutting boards/wooden spoons.
Stay the course....it does get better.
Cutting ALL dairy for a few months can speed healing. You may be able to add it back in after that point.

Did you guys know that there is no such thing as a "Cornish" hen? Those little birds are just chickens that are not fully grown yet. Kinda like veal (baby cows). That is why they are so very succulent.
I am challenging "Corn" as we speak. If all goes well, I will make cornbread stuffing for TG. If not, it is sweet potato casserole.
