My teen son works at our local MacDonalds, and I asked him about the fries. They do have a dedicated fryer..BUT...he mentioned that one evening a couple of the employees were trying to create a fried apple pie similar to what some other restaurant has, and they stuck one of the apple pies in the french fryer so there you go...possible cc from the crust of the pie. So you see it could easily happen.

That said, I've occasionally had their fries, and I don't think they bothered me. However, I don't do well with fried things so I didn't eat many of them.

Good heavens! We are not going to go down the McDonald's road again are we? :o

Wheat is just a source of the oil ... there is no measurable gluten in it ... There is no vegetable protien in it, and it has been considered "safe" by all the Celiac associations.

Yes, there is a possiblity of Cross contamination ... there is every where ... including most of our own homes.

Let's just leave it up to each and every individual whether or not they want to eat there and give poor old McDonalds a rest for a few days

As much as some of us log on here, its funny how suprised we are when people haven't heard about the whole McD's scenario...

Some folks go a few months between log ins -- hence they missed 99% of the McD's drama in here just a few weeks ago...

Too funny...

LOL we need some sort of massive banner on the front page of the board that says "click here for McDonald's fries threads before you proceed" or something like that. Not that we ever get sick of talking about the fries. :)

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?
    • Aussienae
I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.
    • trents
What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
